Yeah, limp handshakes are gross. A couple of times though I've had men shake my hand while meeting me and I swear they've almost crushed my hand bones into tiny fragments. 
I can't stand the "half-hug" either. Only one half of the body comes close and is usually accompanied by a lame double pat on the back.  ugh, i hate the a-frame hug... | |

I always get the feeling they're thinking: ok crazy person who I don't know that well, I don't want to get too close to you or anything.... But maybe I'm just being paranoid now.
