MissThing, I just want to say I think you have pert forearms.

I haven't seen your elbows, though. I have naturally smooth elbows. I gross out at people with super knobby elbows. And I mean, they have to be REALLY knobby. But there's no reason not to rub some Purel on that stuff.

Hey you work out ain't?

Are ya big on core work? I've been working my abs religiously since I'm like 15 I guess.
But recently I've been extremely hard on them.

So yesterday I got this pain, like rite in through my belly button. I couldn't even stand up straight for like the whole day or it would KILL.

Well today I can stand up straight but it still hurts like a mother.

Ever have that? Is it a HERNIA? omfg

it could be a hernia though more likely it's just some kind of strain. what kind of ab exercises do you do? i mainly do the crunch machine thingie. my abs are really weak. i've only been working out for maybe 4 years now and i've only been doing ab stuff for maybe 2 of those years. before that i was anti-exercise all my life, so i have some catching up to do.

Thats what I used to do, just standard crunches, but I'd be constantly flexing them throuthout the day, which really does help.

In HS I was a swimmer and that really built my core.

Rite now though I've been doing pilates, and they are ROCKING my abs. My fave is the double leg and single leg stretch.

i need to check out pilates. i feel like my whole workout routine is getting stale. whenever i get bored, i just do my exercises longer and with heavier weights, but even that is starting to get boring. but if i joined a pilates class, i'd be that moron who smells like fritos and can't keep up. sigh

No hon, pilates isn't fast paced, and they have alternate positions for beginners.
I'm tellin ya ya get the most out of only a couple reps. It s really effective for toning.
I get bored too though. I like to alternate, pilates one day, cardio another, blah blah.
If you train with weights you should be able to handle the resistance.
Are ya flexible?

i'm not sure if i'm flexible. i think i am. i never fall on my ass when i walk on ice, and when i slip, my legs are strong enough that i just do a little james brown move and i'm back on my feet. but can i stick my head between my legs and crabwalk? no.
