I opened an acct about 6 months before I started posting in GD, to check Prince news and would post in Music n More.

But at that time, my computer was in the basement and I had dial up, so I didn't really org much at all.

Then we moved, got DSL, and I started posting in GD almost immediatley. I didn't lurk at all.

The people payed so much attention to me, that I jsut never really left.

It is unhealthy though, IMO, how much I and a lot of YOUS org.

I read news stories and checked out prince:music & more for a short while before signing up. This was before I had a computer and was going to the internet cafe up the road. the internet was still a little bit of a novelty to me then

i don't know why i'm answering this seriously after imago's little photoshop pantsing!

pre-org i checked out hammer's prince page and the family newsletter web page...i REALLY liked the family page and was sad when it folded. it seemed to have the best scoop, and i liked the attitude of the folks (the lady?) who ran it.

other than that, the only boards i remember being on a lot was the Hole newsgroup, so i could read courtney's internet rants. those were some good times.
