snow day!

Or night, as it were.

I just went driving in about half a foot of fresh snow! And it won't stop until sometime tomorrow. eek

I love when it snows this much all at once. The snow makes everything quiet and there's hardly anyone out and about. As I was driving about 10 miles an hour down my street a man even smiled and waved as he walked by my car.

People are nicer when it snows. smile

I think you would suck it up and then catch snowflakes on your tongue with me.

mr.green

And then build a snowman and throw snowballs at people and then come in out of the cold for some yummy hot chocolate.

You're gonna be nice in the snow, dammit! mad

On the news, they're asking people to stay home if they can. Snow plows are waaaaay behind.

Not that I was going anywhere this morning. neutral

lol

Snow days are fun, but all of my plans today were 'fun' too. I don't think my car is going anywhere anyway.

People aren't nice when it snows. fishslap Try plowin' it for a city. You either have a mean ol' rotten S.O.B, cussin' you out because the street ain't plowed yet or bitchin' at you when you do plow it because now their driveway gets a big wind row at the curb. Or somebody whinin' about it. Damn if you do; damned if you don't. I'm startin' to feel about people's driveways like Rick James did about Eddie Murphy's white couch!

falloff

omg, that's hilarious!!

And yeah, my car's plowed in as I park on the street. I went to shovel for a bit (even though it's my upstairs neighbor's job to shovel. See. People are nice when it snows. nana ) and the plow has snow pushed about halfway up the door on my car. I will have to shovel it out soon so when they declare a snow emergency later I can move it so they don't tow it from where they've already plowed it in. lol

I think people in Minneapolis are nice in general. I was there back in 1994(?) and I was literally blown away by how nice people were.

I can send you some in a box, but I'm afraid it won't keep. comfort

And this is the first real storm of the winter. lol We've only had about 12 inches of snow total this year, always melting right away, and now we got 9-12 inches in one day.

The farmers are worried. It has been way too dry. So we needed this.

PS - Another story of how people are nice. Someone shoveled a path all the way around my car, so when I went out to get the snow off and start it up to move it, I didn't have to trudge through the foot and a half high drifts!

See? People are nice when it snows!

biggrin

I only liked this one cause it was the first one this season. giggle

If it had been snowing this bad all year, it would have made me cranky instead.

lol When I lived in Vermont, the snow was great until about mid-January, then I was fed up. It gets old walking around like a little old lady trying to keep from busting your ass on the ice. Colorado was a different story. There, it would snow two feet and melt in a day or two. In Vermont, November snow doesn't melt until April.

nod

Not that we haven't had snow, but we only got maybe an inch at a time, and that was few and far between. When I was a kid, we would be covered in snow from December through March. This year we've barely had anything.

lol

Actually, here it snows every april. At least once. Since Parade came out, at least. It might be the most beautiful spring ever, but it always snows at least once. And everyone I know sings it. lol
