Having your breath stolen.

Sometimes when I exhale I am finished exhaling but it feels like my lungs push even further without my actually exhaling and more air is pulled out. This gives me a breathless type of feeling. I have never smoked. Is this a sign of asthma?

Allergy to something.

Could be anything. How clean is your house/apartement?
Do you use a HEPA air filter?

Well I figure I must have allergies galore because my head is contstantly exploding. But I can't take medication because I freak out. Literally my body cannot handle claritin, benedril and all that crap. Heart attack city disbelief

Aside from dust, you know what really affects me? Air conditioning! I hate it. It makes my mucous membranes go crazy and on hot/dry days I get the same reaction and I feel like I am drowning because of how crazy my nose and throat get. It's awful.

I don't use an air filter but maybe I should get one.

Know what else? If I hold my breath and exhale, I can expell smoke from my lungs. confused I don't know if this is actual smoke, smog or chemicals but probably is all of the above.

Let me get this straight.

You don't use an air filter over your main air vent? eek

Get one immediately. Make sure it's a HEPA air filter (one of those 11 to 17 dollar ones--not the cheep blue 2 dollar ones). Dust mites and particles that irratate your sinuses and cause mucus/post nasal drip float in your air--especially if you have carpet.

Also, don't drink or eat anything dairy.

Also, if you have the room. Try freezing your sheets for a few hours before washing them (this will kill dust mites). You really want to wash your sheets in water that is 120 degrees or hotter, but not very many washers come with heaters that can do that. Placing your sheets in the filter is an effective way to compensate as dust mites will die that way too.

Also, ensure your house is free of roaches. Roach Motels found at Wal-mart or any store will kill them. Roach feces is known to cuase asthma in humans and irritate your respetory tract.

Finally, consider bying a portable HEPA air filtration device. Walmart has them for as cheap as 20 to 30 bucks. The filters that go in them cost about 11 bucks, and you have to replace them ever 4 to 6 weeks or so. Place it in the room that you sleep in and let it run at night.

YES, I do all of these. lol

Of course I do but I'm a special kind of witch. The last time someone threatened to send her ghosts after me I told her she better be careful what she chooses because I had a stronger ghosts than her and that I would come after her in her sleep. I aint afraid of no witch! She was appalled and shocked complaining how dare I curse her. She came at me first! lol

Because of the air conditioning thing I'm thinking it's an allergy to mold or dustmites.

You might want to get tested, hon. I've got a severe dust mite allerty and since I've been put on injections twice a week, it's helped so much with my overall health.

nod same here, I had medication for 1 year and I'm cured.
Only when conditions get realy bad (like all plants flowering at the same time with moist weather and eating the wrong foods) I need some medication, but that hardly happens.

I had Flixotide and Seretide

Nope because around 40 - 45 (which I am about now) I will be probably overgrown the allergy anyway, I take antihistamine if conditions are bad (usually in spring)
And the chance of those injections working would only be 50% anyway, I decided not to.
But those medications got me over my asthmatic reactions to wards allergies, now I only get teary eyes, runny nose, itchy throat and sometimes a little rash.
And those are easily suppressed with antihistamine.
