I hit the dvd drive back in place, so she wouldn't notice it, but I want to fix it, before she gets here.

is it an external drive or an internal drive? If it's an internal drive, you will need to open the case up and unscrew it, and detach the wires. If you're not sure what you are doing, you should probabbly leave it alone and offer to buy them a new one instead.

Yeah! Why do they even let women handle computers?

Do I touch their things? Do I wash the dishes or sweep the floor? No! shake

So women, keep away from technology nod

If there's a little hole on the DVD tray you can open it by sticking a needle or something similar (a paper clip) into that hole.

ok, I fixed it, found a little booklet and followed the directions...unscrewed it and took the drive out....took me awhile, I think it's kinda dented, but hey it opens and closes when I press the button, hope it burns though. lol smile Thanks for replying, every time I need help with something electrical you're always there. biggrin thanks!

I was stepping on it and hitting it with a screwdriver and hammer, I think after I unscrewed it, I put it back together wrong and I couldn't get the screws into the hole so I put my body weight on it to squish the dvd drive so the screws could reach the holes...dumb idea, I realized I put it back together wrong and since it looked dented I tried banging on it to fix the dents...yeah pretty stupid.
