Next RCHS Marching Band Competition 9/14/02 The next RCHS "Mighty Laker Marching Band" competition will be held Saturday, September 14th, 2002 in Richmond, Kentucky at Madison Central.
We're set to perform in class 3A at 2:30 PM CST. If we place in the top 10, we perform again later that night in finals, which begin at 5:45 CST. Awards will be at 8:45. Madison Central is where the best bands in the state come together to compete. There will be 24 bands there on Saturday, the top 10 returning to march in finals later that night. My prediction: We'll take 2nd or third. Our only big time competition there will be Tates Creek and Bryan Station. There's no one else there that can beat us. Tates Creek will only do better because they're a big ass 4A band and they'll kick our ass musically. Lafayette will also be there, but performing in festival, not competition. Madison Central, the top 3A band in the state will of course be there - but in exhibition. Hosting bands can't compete. I'll of course, post the results when it's all over. -------

I usually use a 3 1/2...But occasionally a 3 if I need to break the reed in quicker. -------

No. The strangest thing happened. 'Twas a hot summer's day in August. I left my cork grease in my clarinet case. My clarinet case rode in the car for what must've been 15 minutes. However, it was exposed to the sun. I opened my clarinet up, and what a nice surprise. I find my cork grease melted all over it. It's been a bitch to clean it up too. It got down by springs and so on.
