I'm watching When The Levees Broke Disc 1 tonight I've got the flu really bad, so I'm curling up tonight in the bed I've been in practically all day to watch this much anticipated disc.
Has anyone seen it? Was it great? I'm hoping it is. I heard that it is a must see kind of thing.

M How many hours long is it exactly? I think it's like 10 if you watch all the extras. I can't remember. I watched 3 discs. Ok, watched Act 1, started watching Act 2, and I'm pretty much disgusted by my government.
Very nicely done documentary so far, I'm a sucker for documentaries.

I've watched it several times and I cry every time seeing my home, my old haunts, fellow New Orleanian’s and the rest of the Gulf Coast region suffer and be abandoned by our government for all that time.

Ex-Moderator | I'll have to check it out. I watched some of the footage Brian Williams did for, I believe Bravo? that they showed on NBC on the one year anniversary and was reduced to bawling, like I was for days when it happened.
I felt, and still feel, so helpless about it all. I honestly just watched and cried and watched and cried and watched and cried... |

I cried like a baby during the first 2 acts, I still have to watch the last 2. Excellent doc

OK, it's just a case of seeing is believing.
I know that I always play devil's advocate when discussing racial issues, but I can now see how and why black people are so sensitive about certain issues. I cannot be unsympathetic after I see the dying and the dead for DAYS without any help at all. What the fuck is wrong with this picture? I was watching the news lastnight. There was a bad tornado in Arkansas. Three or fours hours later, some kind of mobilization had occurred to start helping these people. Three or four HOURS. Not DAYS. I found it ironic that I see this news story right after I watch the doc. And with the fact that the levees had been blown apart before to deliberately flood sections of towns, I had to question my beliefs and really think about this country and what it stands for. I don't like my President. I think he's a scammer, a liar, and a cheat. He smirks when he talks, and acts like a baffoon. It's just so sickening to watch, yet I think it MUST be watched by all who live in the USA. There is some WRONG shit going on STILL!!!

Oh, and by the way....
think about what 9/11 would have been like if the government waited five days to do anything about that! They say most of our resources were in Iraq. WTF? Who is the moron that is managing the troop numbers?
