44th minute without a smoke.....

about to go on murderous rampage....
innately aware of moving molecules in the air...
I can actually hear a dog whistle.....literally and figuratively....

on the serious side, though, I hope for your continued success with quitting..clapping thumbs up!..I quit a couple years ago on my last deployment to Iraq, but picked it right back up when I got home and started having marital issues...(go figure....being home was more stressful than being in a combat zone..)...but all thats getting fixed up now, so I'm cutting back down to one a day, then quitting altogether.....

Thanks 4 the support kids.

There's a big difference between 1 & 0, just ask a computer.

The 1 a day strategy never worked with me. I'd go to the store and ask the man 4 1 ciggy, most of the time he obliged.

That single ciggy becomes more important, then comes the stressful day and u award yourself with 2 smokes, just 4 getting through. Then, early tomorrow is the big meeting, u want 2 b fit so u smoke just 1 before u go in. You're once again on the carousel of addiction and self-deception.

At least that's how it seems 2 have gone with "cutting down" and me.

An easy Sunday behind me, even though I got beat at tennis.

The strategy I use is just the opposite.....I'll do shit like forget my smokes at home...or leave them in the car....keeping myself regimented to that single smoke at the time when I think I'll be wanting it most....which is usually right after dinner....there are times where I will literally forget that I haven't had my smoke, and if its past dinner time, then thats a smoke I don't get to "enjoy"....I agree it is an insidious habit to break....and I will have my little bumps in the road....

...now if I could just get my wife to quit, this thing would be in the bag...nod

I've never lived with a smoker, or at least not for very long.

At home I've always gone outside for a smoke, not matter how many I smoked in any given day, always outside.

Quitting and living with a smoker I probably couldn't manage, not without other props, such as the nicotine gum 1 can buy.

At the moment I try 2 keep very calm about every single thing. But if I do notice that I just made some thoughtless aggressive comment I tend not to give it much of a second thought. A kind of holiday for my conscience. I'll go easy on myself for at least another 2 weeks, and if I'm still alive it's back in the thick of it.

Good luck to you reneGade20

My skin is a little better, the last time I looked my nose was the same colour as the rest of my face. I've become even more intelligent, which is a drag, but my grammar is improving!

Thanks 4 your support
Y'know I find it's only difficult now when I talk to people.
Talking always gets me high, I like to put a lot into it, a ciggy would earth me again.
Now after talkin' I'm walkin' 'round like a live wire. It's all interesting.
I feel quite vulnerable.
My sleepin' is still very irregular.

Outstanding job, Drblr....clapping highfive

I am down to 2 a day....one in the morning and one when I get off shift in the evening.....and only smoking half of each...throwing away the shorts....since I don't deal with a whole lot of people, I'm being spared the irritability that I'm sure is present....and I'm really pushing myself at the gym to counter the craving....doing mad pushups in my "office"....anything to stave off the temptation to light up.....

14th DAY

going strong. Still livin' a little reclusive though.
Next week I must go to work though.
I find it hard 2 imagine walking 'round, interactin' with unpredictable human beings.

It'll take some creative brainstorm 2 get me through in 1 piece. But that's the idea.
