Just wondering....

Do any of you orgers, apart from the 1 or 2 I know of, work in the construction/property industries? In any country! Or anyones spouse? question

I do, and for my bachelors degree dissertation I have to carry out questionnaires. They're very short and simple, and even interesting nod so if anyone would like to help me out I'd really appreciate it!

I should add, you dont have to be working in the sector currently! As long as you have some experience.

It's not too important, I probably have enough replies already, I am just interested in international answers!

confused Kinda, see the problem is I dont know how job titles translate in different countries!

More someone like a contractor, or a developer, or someone who works with them, not a "construction worker"...persay. That make more sense?

hmmm I suspect not really hon....thinking more of commercial, large scale construction. Or rather just based on cities. If he only has domestic (small scale?) experience, it may not be much help confused

Thanks though! biggrin

No problem, just off the top of my head....

1. Make sure it's solid
2. Some kind of anti plane net on tall buildings
3. Big concrete barriers at street level

wink

Shit, sorry, make sure you tell people what you are trying to prove or you will be scuppered from the start.

What I meant to say was:

1. Jelly and icecream barriers at the doors
2. Jihad meeting rooms on all floors
3. Lots of little nooks and crannies and corners to leave hidden bags

falloff falloff falloff

I want to trick them into saying what I want them to! Actually no, I want to find out if they (construction professionals) are aware of the effects of terrorism on construction, but Im wording it to get honest answers. Im just hoping they are unaware! But if it turns out they are, thats fine, I can say that terrorism has affected our industry and put fear into our hearts. geek

Picked it nod Spent last summer working in Belfast, and the topic kinda morphed from there...it was originally based on the regeneration in Belfast, which was caused by bombing of course, but more info is available about other areas, so....yeah smile

Excellent then, you should get pretty good marks for the concept alone - good luck with recruiting.

I used to know a structural engineer, friend of a friend, I might be able to pass on a questionaire if you want.
