Went with my Mum in 2000, spent a week in Havana and a week in Varadero, touristy resort.

Its a fantastic place, you'd love it Jony, definitely to be experienced nod So much going on. But don't bother with the tourist resorts they advertise, go to Havana. Gorgeous city mushy

The only thing I know about Cuba is that I process about 30 a month for political asylum. In the sworn statement part of the process, everyone says the same thing. They are coming to the US to work and be with family.

About 600 Cubans enter the US where I work each month.

It would be interesting to find out how much money is spent each month for Cuban asylees.

For US citizens and LPRS, permisson to travel to Cuba is seldom given. Most travel first to Canada or Mexico.

A close friend of mine has gone several times. Her fiance is from Cuba and has since relocated to be with her.

She couldn't say enough good things about the country. Crime is low, there is music and art everywhere, people were nice and friendly to her wherever she went.

i was supposed to go a couple of years ago when friends eloped there. but yes, i think the point of going to cuba is to experience the country and not stay hidden away at a resort. it will be interesting to see what changes come about after castro kicks it.

i've always wondered if americans are hassled when they return to the u.s. with a cuban stamp in their passport...

Ricky Ricardo , Jose Conseco & Vanessa del Rio were all Cubanos.

However,
this is not to say that the success of Cubanos are somehow dependent on Balls.

My (late) Godmother was Cuban, so I have a deep yearning to visit the island before I die.
Would love to eat some arróz-con-grís & lechón con platanos maduros in a Havana café overlooking the sea.
