A young boy was losing his hearing and could only hear one person at the family table. It was usually his mother, and she would repeat whatever was being said that was interesting enough.

Over time, a curious thing happened. Another member of the family started not hearing the boy properly and would ask the mother to repeat whatever the boy said. This person could hear everybody at the table but the boy.

So moms repeats the shit out of everything sounding like a broken record and then the boy's brother who is completely annoyed cuz the little brother always gets the attention starts to feign that he cant hear the little twerp yappin anymore, "can someone please explain what my deaf brother is saying?" ...mumbling "the little shit" so he asks moms wtf and so she now fields questions and answers from too p/o'ed little boys.

No, you are not close at all. To put you all out of your agony... here is the answer...

The person was my father. Nothing wrong with his hearing or speech, but somehow, because I was not hearing his low voice, it seems he subconsciously reacted to the situation by behaving like I was not paying attention to him, so he found it hard to pay attention to me. He went through my mom to understand me, just like I was going through her to understand him.

So this is either a micro-hysterical hearing impairment or a goddam Oedipus Complex structured into a hearing situation. Or maybe it was just a case of monkey see, monkey do... you decide...

As for the test part, you all come out with flying colours. Cuz you see, if you could have guessed right, that's when I would have known you have a truly nutty imagination...
