Worst Valentines ever

So this is what I got yesterday in an E-mail

Got your message on my answering machine; thanks for calling and thank you for the email.

Have been having a very busy week with work and getting back into the swing of things. Everything is looking up and I am much happier about where the company will be going this year.

I have something I need to tell you.

I have been seeing someone for a while now and it is going really well. I don't think at this stage that I should be planning to see you when you come here as I know that this would really hurt him and it would also not be what I wanted. I have been friends with this man for a really long time and I am very happy that we are attempting a " relationship". It is what I want; I want to settle down and find my life partner and I hope that this may be a step in the right direction.

I hope you are happy for me and I hope you can understand. It may explain to you why I have been stand offish on the phone and non-commital to your coming here.

I am sorry if I have hurt you. I needed to be honest with you but I also kind of knew that you were very hurt from your previous relationship I didn't know how you would react
I hope you can find it in yourself to appreciate my honesty.

SO how did I deal with it. I listened to Prince and Queen and watched some movies. The world still turns, the sun will rise tomorrow and there are millions of fish in the sea.

Dude, the seas of singlehood are sometimes rough in the choppy seas! But there is always hope, always hope!

Well I just have one thing to say and that is she should have called you and told you on the telephone since you don't live close to one another. An email is impersonal and a cowardly way to tell someone, something like that.

You are right, there are plenty of fish in the sea. Glad it didn't bother you.

I've been in contact with someone I know via e-mail only and I don't like it. But I brought that situation on to myself. Sometimes what seems cowardly isn't. Not saying dud is lying about something but we don't know the whole story. Maybe there is a reason for the email other than cowardice.

The thing is that it wasn't an e-mail only relationship. I had known her for a while (in person) but had to return to the states for a little while. Meh.
