An asteroid to hit Earth in 2036

On April 13, 2036 (4 days before my birthday, damn it) a big asteroid may possibly hit the earth, potentially causing mayhem and destruction. Sure the scientists are downplaying it with their "facts" and "evidence" but I think it is going to mess us all up. I have decided I am not going to wait until this bleak day to prepare. I have already taken all of my money out of the bank, purchased several hundred MREs and begun construction on an asteroid shelter. I am not sure how deep I need to dig to build an effective asteroid shelter and unfortunately I think there are a lot of pipes in my yard because they told us when we bought the house that we would not be able to build an in-ground pool. I am undaunted. I am not going to let this mother take me down baby!

Kiss my ass, asteroid!

Here's one of many links to this frightening story.

With my asteroid shelter being constructed, I'm going to get real popular, real quick around the Org.

Including me on an Org list every once in a while might boost your chances in making it in the "Casa de Gotta" shelter.

Dude,
ever since they announced that Anna-Nicole is going to Heaven,
my last chance of ever getting her autograph is completely gone.

For me, all hope is lost.

That was Gotta's initial point.
In these situations,
one must always practice the proper preparation.
In this case, it's H.

All space governments and the EU have a plan to destroy an asteroid should it approach the World.

Astronomers are monitoring an asteroid named Apophis, which has a 1 in 45,000 chance of striking Earth on April 13, 2036.

1 in 45,000.
1 in 100 or 1 in 10, that's when I'll start to worry.

I was watching the news with a friend the other day and we realized that it was all about war, flooding, starvation and terrorism. Then we couldn't help but laugh joylessly when they finished off with "...and in other news, an asteroid might destroy the planet". lol

Asteroid...A steroid...Barry Bonds has always known hasn't he?

Barry has been trying to warn us, very subtly, for years by keeping the talk of steroids on the front page and by letting his head grow exactly 140 meters in circumference.

Just a theory...

i like your thinking! you are right, this is a huge threat to earth, and the american way of life. but, i think if we all cooperate we can scare the asteroid away from planet earth.

all we need is a giant poster of a giant spider, big enough to cover the planet and then, when that asteroid comes close enough to see that it is about to crash into a giant space spider it will swerve away and continue harmlessly off into the stars. nod

As always, you are a revolutionary of profound insight.

Everybody, even asteroids, is afraid of spiders.

Here is one that scares the hell out of me.
