Today is National Sea Monkey Day!!

woot!

You saw those crazy ads in the back of comic books:

Immortalized in song by the Pixies:

In a place they say is dead
in the lake that's like an ocean
i count about a billion head
all the time
there's a motion
palace of the brine
i saw the cloning
of the famous family
i heard the droning
in the shrine
of the sea-monkey
palace of the brine
beneath reflections in the fountain
the starry sky and utah mountains
they are swimming happily
can't you see
a life that's so sublime
palace of the brine.

music

I always wanted them as a kid and never got them, but my best friend did! biggrin

We found out they're actually brine shrimp. confused

Who love Sea Monkeys? woot!

You could! eek Sort of. It was more like getting them to do things with food they would normally already do. lol

My friend was obsessed with them. They come with a little booklet and we would read it and watch them for hours. redface

i had sea monkeys when i was a kid. the only tricks i ever saw them do was have sea monkey sex, make sea monkey babies and die.

which, you know, whatever - it cost five bucks. these days you can't even get a used copy of "teen wolf 2" on VHS for five bucks. shrug

Oh my gawd! This reminds me of an embarassing moment.

I was on a business call, and client had this thing on his desk, well I thought it was one of those water wheels.. So I turned it upside down..

I killed all of his Sea Monkeys!

Needless to say, I went out and bought him a new kit, and a water wheel!

Sometimes I like to craft these things, polish them and make them perfect. Sea monkeys are serious business.

Oh to hell with, as long as someone is talking about them what does it matter. They are in the Org consciousness and that is what is really important.
