They were damn expensive, too. I remember my little brother bought the tape recorder guy and spent $20 on him, and I STILL think that's overpriced given 20+ years of inflation. It was the only one he bought because he couldn't afford any more, and none of his friends could, either.

The first toy i became ultimately attatched to was a "Pumpkin Patch Kid" lol something like a cabbage patch only not! She had a chubby lil body and a chubby lil face and woolen hair and wore a brown pair of overalls over a mustard colored shirt. I got her from my mum on my fourth birthday. I remember my grandma who had just come from India was staying with us at the time and asked what i wanted to name the doll and was inclined to name the doll for me but my mum stepped in n was like no no no! let Missy name her dolly lol so out of nowhere (and i remember the moment! LOL) 'SALLY-ANN!' falloff From that moment on that doll went where i went! And apparently my aunts were trying to figure out where the hell i got the name 'Sally Ann' from cause i knew noone by that name- and frankly i thought i just made it up myself lol (being four years old i guess). Whenever it was bed time and i would get into bed with the doll my mum would call us "Snuggle Pot & Cuddle Pie" after the storybook giggle
