EVERYBODY SAYS I LOVE YOU
The Wedding Singer. Guilty pleasure.
King Kong. Really, any version will do.
Life is Beautiful. Ok, it isn't romantic. But it makes me cry.

I can only think of 4. I'd love to add Husbands & Wives, but I'd classify that more as one of the greatest movies of all time, though decidedly anti-romantic.

I was so sure you'd pick a Stanley Curbric film or a David Lynch film.

Kramer Vs. Kramer.

With the kind of technology they had back then,
I'm surprised how real the monsters looked in that film.

breakfast at tifany is almost kubrick since they took a story about a gay man and his idol worship of a girl and made it a heterosexual love story in the film.

kubrick used to gut and rewrite adaptations too. that's how the shining ended up resembling so little of the book.

Oh fuck, I can't believe that I almost forgot to mention Titanic. doh!

After watching that flick,
I'm hoping that that's the way I end up going.
Drowning in sub-zero waters because I was too polite to ask the bitch to scoot her fat ass over a little on the floating door.

That movie not only restored my faith in romantic love,
but also established the foundation to my life-long hatred to icebergs.

That it is.

Do you have the DVD which includes the Philip Glass opera composed expressly for the film?

The Wedding Singer is about as romantic as I am willing to watch.

That's the only one I can think of.

The English Patient moves me more than any other, but it's just personal.

Annie Hall is a classic portrait of relationships

I really like Groundhog Day for something light & funny, which can be very romantic

Before Sunrise/Sunset

Untamed Heart

When this movie came out, I still considered myself a writer. This movie inspired the following first lines which I later developed into a poem:

My motivation has no forced origin
It is derived from the very thing that created my soul
And it is my soul that commands me to do no wrong

Keep in mind I was young and wrote things without revising

You rarely start threads in the GD forum and one that you start is a romantic movies one

I don't think I like that many romantic movies omg .....especially romantic-comedies. Overall they're my least favorite genre. lol I am seriously trying to think of 5 that I really like.....and I can't. Someone said King Kong.....that counts? I like King Kong, but I never considered it a romantic movie. lol Pretty in Pink was good.....love the soundtrack even more. The remake of Romeo & Juliet with Claire Danes was pretty cool too. Other than those hmph!

I don't think I've seen five romantic films. lol

Ditto...except for What Dreams May Come. Made and still makes me cry.

wait... I saw Far and Away on some1's list. Seen it nd loved it. Mostly for Ron Howard's bro, Clint, being in it as the sweat shop owner. He revels in his ugliness. I luv it. He's ugly and knows it and takes FULL advantage it. Whatever those advantages may b.

wait...saw Titanic....barf...ewwwww....could that boat take ANY longer to sink!

wait a minute...I did see cold mountain. That fool MAINTAINED. I give him ALL props. Really really sad but I liked it. And that Renee Zellsumminsummin chick is HELLAH fuckin funny in that...puckerd face the WHOLE movie. She constantly made me laugh out loud. That reminds me...is Chicago a romantic movie...i unno...liked it...as campy as it is. Is the producers a romantic movie?...there is Ulla.

And if Wedding Singer is a romantic movie then I like it too...but I see it more as a comedy than a romantic movie.

1. Breakfast At Tiffany's
2. Casablanca
3. The Philadelphia Story
4. Roman Holiday
5. Sabrina

My favorite love story is Leaving Las Vegas, however, but since it has a brutal rape scene, I can't classify it as a romantic movie.
