So basicaly no one should have sex with kids living in the house? confuse I am not saying that I agree with what the mother did, but how many parents here had sex with their kids home and had one of them walk in? Would that ALSO be considered raising your child in a lewd household?

having sex with a child in the house and purposely having sex in front of a child are two ENTIRELY DIFFERENT THINGS.

Most children are aware of their parents' sexual activity, that's normal. It's also normal and healthy for parents to talk with their children about sex but having sex in front of a nine year old so that "she can learn" is not just creepy but borders on sexual abuse.

Basically, this mother and her boyfriend are including this child in their sexual acts by not excluding her from the room. For them to start actively having sex with this child doesn't seem that far off in the future by any stretch of the imagination.

It would be one thing if the child just saw her mother and the boyfriend naked because nudity does not equal sex but having sex in front of this child is really blurring the parent-child boundary. Also, the fact that the man involved is not her father makes this boundary even blurrier.

These people did not merely have sex with a child in the house, they had sex in front of her and that's just wrong. Seriously now, go back and read that article. Would you have sex in front of your own child or would you just pop in a kids video, give the kid a sandwich, and handle your business behind closed doors?

I did read the article and I did say I DID NOT AGREE WITH WHAT THE MOTHER DID. rolleyes

Your kids walking in on you and you making them stand there watching you on purpose are two totally different animals altogether...accidental walk-ins don't make your household lewd...and no one is saying you can't have sex in the house when the kids are there, but there are ways to ensure your privacy.....as in door locks, and unfortunately, self censoring (keeping the animal noises to a minimum lol )....

sex ed didn't even teach me much of anything. we just sat in class, watching all these cheesy '70s educational films (i still remember the one about male puberty...i LOL-ed at it).

spit i think ours was from earrrrly 80s, the gift of life or sommin like that lol

i just got done reminiscing about the ones i had to watch...i don't remember the names of them, but the one about female puberty was super-lame. the male puberty one was hilarious, because it had this one part where the boy in it woke up one morning and discovered that he'd had a wet dream, so he was stripping the sheets off of his bed and stuffing them into the clothes hamper like he was hiding drugs from the cops or something...his mom was downstairs, all like "timmy, what are you doing?" and the kid was all like "uhhh, nothing, mom!" the acting in that was pretty bad, that may be why i remember it so well. lol

i still remember what the book my mom had looked like, too--the front cover it had this close-up, soft focus shot of pink flowers and had human sexuality in big white letters on it. it's really weird, because i was about 5 or 6 when i last saw it. the book also had a bunch of sexual position diagrams in it too, placed throughout the chapters. i was all like "whoa, they're hanging off the bed!"

The original story doesn't make any suggestion that a child walking in accidently is also cause for concern, but your post did. I think Jasmine is just differentiating between the two scenarios as a response to your original question.

you said nothing about courts or anything. i assumed nothing, i just read what was written. If i had somehow intuited that you were thinking about courts getting involved at that level then that would be making an assumption, and a really big assumption at that, as you said NOTHING about it.

i remember once my father had to take me somewhere, to my mom's or to some dance lesson or another. Anyway, my dad and my stepmom take off to the bedroom for reasons that are unknown to me at the time so i decide to play on the piano to pass the time.

After a minute or so i hear my stepmom say to me:

i went and watched some television after that.

Girls start seriously thinking about boys and sex around the age of 13. Hence, the hair, the makeup, the chatty talks on the phone. Preparing a child for sex prior to age 13 is ludicrious. Between 12 and 13 is when sex education should begin for most girls as they mature into their reproductive years. I think the time to explain sex to girls is when they start their menstral cycles. This story is bordering on child porn, which is illegal.
