After a slightly shaky start, U.S. President George W. Bush earned widespread praise for rising to the challenge posed by the terror attacks. He displayed many traits associated with a great leader. But fine rhetoric was not among them.

"I'm not gonna fire a $2-million missile at a $10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt." Sept. 13, Washington, D.C.

"They misunderestimated the fact that we love a neighbour in need. They misunderestimated the compassion of our country. I think they misunderestimated the will and determination of the Commander-in-Chief too." Sept. 26, Langley, Va.

"I am here to make an announcement that, this Thursday, ticket counters and airplanes will fly out of Ronald Reagan Airport." Oct. 2, Arlington, Va.

Too funny! Dan Quayle can now rest easy that he isn't the dumbest politician on the planet anymore!

you know..theres so many wonderful bush quotes..but one wonders, how many of these are actually true?

now this one scares me. okay they ALL scare me. seems like georgie didn't do so well in school, not even regarding the mere basics. shouldn't our elected officials be required to have at least more than a basic education?!

In any other time, these quotes would have sunk Bush to a low-rating, but the press is so kind and respectful. Poor Dan Quayle got ridiculed for his spelling, but some of these quotes are far, far worse.

That's so funny! Especially since Clinton stuck strictly to scripted materials. More slimy actors in power, we at the org say!
