It is symptomatic of a media industry that continues to shift its focus from "marginal" issues such as those outlined by Imago to Hollywood scandals.
Smith's death has been treated like everything approaching the passage of a head of state or of Marilyn Monroe... CNN, et al. are eating this up. And any references such news outlets will make to media attention and undue publicity surrounding someone who obviously was mentally unstable will be insincere at best. They thrive off of this mess. | |

Its fine. She really has no loved ones left living to be upset by all the coverage, and a lot of people are really curious and wanna know what happened, so no biggie.
Now if her son was still living, or she had someone who loved her it would be different. | |
