NEVER Use Maps.Com To Get Driving Directions

I tell ya, they SUCK, and they give you WRONG directions. I had a job interview today for a temporary assignment, and made the unfortunate mistake of using the maps.com website to get directions. Here's the directions that I got when I typed in my start and my destination addresses:

Turn left on Brecksville Rd/Hwy 21
Turn left on E Wallings Rd
Turn right on Cleveland CLEVELAND WHAT??? Not very clear
Continue on I 77 Northbound/Willow Fwy
Exit right following the sign Toledo, Youngstown/I 480 (EXIT 156)
Ramp forks, keep right to Youngstown/I 480 Eastbound
Continue on I 480 Eastbound/Outerbelt South Fwy/Outer Belt South Fwy
Continue, name changes to Erie Pa, Warren/I 271 Northbound, US 422 (EXIT 26)
Exit right following the sign Miles Rd, North Randall, Bedford Hts
Take right to Bedford Hts
Enter ramp (right) following the sign I 271 Southbound, I 480
Continue on I 271 Southbound/Outerbelt East Fwy/Outer Belt East Fwy
Exit right following the sign EXIT 26/Rockside Rd
Turn left continuing on Rockside Rd
Take right to Aurora Rd/Hwy 43
Take right to Perkins Rd
Bear right on Perkins Rd
Turn right on Columbus Rd
Arrive at your destination IDIOTS, my destination is NOT on Columbus Road!

I was doing okay until I got to the "take right on Perkins Road". I got to Perkins Road, but it wasn't a through street, it was an industrial area with office buildings. WTF? So then I called the office where I had the interview scheduled (luckily I had my cell phone and the office number with me), and told them what happened, and asked them for instructions. They were nice enough to give them to me, but I wound up showing late to the interview. Then I felt like an ass explaining what happened and why I was late. They seemed to understand, but I felt like a real fucktard for showing up late.

Bottom line, DON'T EVER USE MAPS.COM, THEY ARE NOT WORTH YOUR TIME! I think from now on, I'm going to just do it the old fashioned way, look at a road map. That's what my dad always does, and he never seems to have a problem getting to where he needs to go.

Rant over, but I'm still not happy with what happened. This is not the first time that maps.com fucked me up by giving me incorrect directions.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

smile I just typed in my start and destination addresses using Mapquest.com, and actually got instructions that made sense. lol It didn't tell me to turn on Perkins Road (which was what fucked me up to begin with). You're right, mapquest.com is the site to use. thumbs up!

I don't have navigation in my vehicle yet, but since I live in Fort Worth, TX I have to use Mapquest alot to find places (I'm directionally challenged right now giggle). It has helped me alot.

I hear ya about being directionally challenged. I've lived in Cleveland my whole life, and I STILL have trouble finding my way around sometimes. giggle

I used to use Expedia.com and Mapquest.com until I found this: love It's a real life saver. I drove 14 hours to Texas without getting lost and was able to find restaruants, hotels, gas, supermarkets, etc. on the way ...
