I like most soup except for mushroom. Generally I prefer vegetable soup, or chicken and seafood, but not red meat.

When I bring home a bowl of soup from somewhere, after I finish eating it, I let my cats lick the bowl. Think they enjoy the soup as much as I do. giggle

I've been making a cream of asparagus soup that uses potatoes to give it the creamy texture.

Potatoes
Asparagus
Celery
Onion
Garlic
Thyme
Bay leaf
Chicken Stock
Salt & Pepper
Nutmeg

Puree & strain

Actually you can substitute almost anything for the asparagus--I've tried broccoli & spinich.

my mom used to make a really simple cabbage soup and i wish i knew how she made it, because she'd whip up batches of it and we'd have cabbage soup for days. i LOVED it, especially with a bit of hot sauce mixed in. yum. i think it's some fairly common dieting soup? i'll have to check with my ma this weekend...

What kinds of soup do you like? I like just about any kind of soup, except for plain tomato soup. ill I don't mind a tomato-based soup with other stuff in it, but tomato soup by itself is yucky.

I went to a new restaurant called "Zoup" and got an Italian soup with vegetables in it. It was pretty good. The name of the restaurant made me think of the Seinfeld episode with the Soup Nazi, and I was kind of wondering if I would see one there. I didn't. lol

Edited to add that I just found their website: http://zoup.com/. Apparently, their home office is in Michigan.
