Who killed Laura Palmer?

In the spirit of Aaron's Dallas thread, Id like to mention a far more deserving show...David Lynch's brilliant Twin Peaks...

Watch "Fire Walk With Me", it's horrendous, but at least you get some answers...
Amazing show by an amazing man...

lol

Twin Peaks=Prince
Dallas=Nsync

Sure Dallas lasted longer and had more of a cultural impact but Twin Peaks changed TV forever...it was the first show to bring cinema quality to each episode...and anything that brings Piper Laurie and Peggy Lipton to viewers deserves the recognition... wink

Oh my, how I loved Twin Peaks!!!

(It was BOB who killed her, via her own FATHER!)

Do ya think Cooper'd ever get out of the Red Lodge? Oh what I'd give for another movie with the original cast...

No no no...its wonderful...I think you need to seperate it from the TV show...This is the story that lead up to her killing, of course its going to be darker..after all Laura Palmer *was* a drug addicted nympho who was haunted by spirits and horrible dreams...all these things were mentioned during the TV show..so, in order for you to understand her pain, David Lynch had to go deep, dark and nasty.

So, with that in mind, I loved it...except for Moira Kelly..Damn Laura Flynn Boyle for rejecting to do the film...Damn her!!

I'd love another Twin Peaks movie or series with the original cast. What a great series! Fire Walk With Me was a bit ... whee!

if you search the net for the Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me script, you will find that it ties up *that* loose end at the end of the film...Theres a bunch of other stuff the script (and deleted scenes) tied up but the film ended up being over 4 hours long...Lynch had gone on record saying that the released version of TPFWWM is *his* final version (Lynch has had director cut approval for all his films following Dune) so he will never add these scenes back into the film. He however was going to add the scenes as an extra to the just released dvd but the studio wasnt willing to cough up the extra dough so Lynch could go back and re-edit and polish the scenes...These scenes included *all* missing characters from the tv show (except for no show Sheryl Lynn Finn)... and more of David Bowie *and* a better explenation of what the heck happened to Chris Isaak...

damn..i could chat for hours on Twin Peaks...do check out that script, its an awesome read.

oh oh oh...good news for Twin Peaks fans...Because the american studio who released the film in the US was unsure of the profitability of a Lynch film (for good reason, the dudes films never make money) the found a foreign studio to back up funds and recieve international rights to the film...Well, this company (who i cant remember right now) is considering giving Lynch the monies to touch up the deleted scenes...

sooo...there might be more Peaks scenes in the future...I hope so cause the just released US DVD sucks big monkey dong...

Do you perchance have a link to the script? smile Or should I just do a general search?

That would be amazing to get those edited scenes! Grrr of frustration!!! The studio would've gotten its money back!!!

I still wish "Mulholland Dr." was made into a TV series like he wanted to...

Here is a site where you can sign a petition to have the deleted scenes added to the international dvd.

omg I haven't thought about Twin Peaks in a looong time. I loved that show!

You can analyze the symbolism for weeks and still never be sure who the killer was.

I don't understand at all when people say that. It was Leland Palmer, possessed by BOB. It's in the film, and it's in the series.

My band released a song about Laura few years back ... check it out

Wow BoB woW!

Twin Peaks was the best show ever to appear on TV! Countless shows have ripped it off since, but none have come close to it's brilliance!

I too wish that we could see a conclusion story to Dale being trapped in the Black Lodge.

Ahhh, but could Bob have done it without Leland's weakness? Is Bob capable of possessing someone without their consent, at least on some level? (and remember, Dale's doppleganger was possessed at the end, not Dale himself).

While Leland may not have intended to kill Laura, it was his own darkness that allowed Bob to thrive and grow within him. Leland was a victim, of course, but he allowed himself to be victimized.
