When you borrow $$$ From a friend ...how quickly do you repay them ?
If you have loaned out $ to a friend how long is LONG enough to wait for repayment ? Do you feel you should have to ask for the $ back or do you invest trust in them to return the $ you loaned them ? What would you do if they did not repay you ?

i HATE borrowing money. most of the time, if i can manage, i'd rather do without. but usually i only borrow enough that i can repay it by taking them out to dinner or recomping in some way that's easy enough to settle the tab. i've been lucky that i haven't had to ask for any huge loans in my adult life.

It has been my experience the few times I have loaned select friends money...they repayment was prompt I haven't borrowed $ from friends either I am just interested in how people handle it ... my friend here in Asheville is having issues with not being repaid $ she loaned out

I have lent money on many occasions and often times from my own need, i never ask for it back, i figure that if they have it they will pay it.
I really hate money coming between friends and i feel that if i can't bear to lose it i should not lend it. I guess i leave it to the honesty of the person i lent it to. However communication is the key, if you can't pay it say so, if you have paid it back, make sure the person got it because i am the kind of guy that wont chase it or wont check. Money sux ass big time and it should and for me never WOULD cause me to lose a friend it just aint worth it. Friends are worth more than $$$$$

If you have loaned out $ to a friend how long is LONG enough to wait for repayment ? Do you feel you should have to ask for the $ back or do you invest trust in them to return the $ you loaned them ? What would you do if they did not repay you ? I have only borrowed money twice, and paid it back within a week both times. I have loaned money but don't have a timetable it only wrecks relationships. Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

I do not ask for it, if they don't repay me I never lend them anything again.

I hate borrowing and/or lending money. All parties in the process are just so touchy about it including myself.

I've got a pretty close friendship with two people that we both can ask or lend each other money and we know we will pay it back asap. It's never a long term situation. I did have a situation with a friend years ago and they weren't paying me back and I finally said I want the money you owe me. I'm cool for a little while but keep putting me off and then I'm very direct!
