What Comment Or Compliment Have You Received That Is:

What comment,or compliment have you received that is:

Unusual/Unique

Positive

Negative

Totally Bizarre

Feel free to explain where or why the comment was given.

I remember two unusual comments from the 1980's.

"Are you with the band?" -I was standing in a line outside of Paisley Park for the Lovesexy afterparty and someone from Paisley Park grabbed my arm and asked me to come with them. The first thing that went thru my mind was, I didn't do anything,do you need to search my bag? eek The woman said oh no it's nothing like that, some people want to meet you and ask you some questions. I hesitated and said ok. Then she took me over to an area where the press were sectioned off and a bunch of reporters started snapping photos of me and asking me questions. The first question was, Are you with the band? The first thing that that came to my mind was what do you think! Or do you really have to ask! But I didn't want to be a smarta$$ so I answered all their questions. At first I was really surprised and then I was really annoyed.

"Are you a fashion designer?"-A man asked me that at a nightclub back in the 1980's and I looked at him and said are you serious why would you say that? confused He said well your clothes, I thought maybe you designed them. I said no I didn't design them. Then he looked at them a little more, touched some of them and said well I really like what your wearing. It was a compliment yet I felt really self concious and then that shyness set in. Then he said well I'd like to talk for a while if that's ok and by the end of the night I took his phone number and we dated for a little while.

I had a comment recently where a girl said

"man, u are so larger then life". Iam like "huh?". All it triggered in my head was that super expensive video "larger then life", the backstreet boys had.

She then wondered "are u somebody famous?". Iam like, "jokes over son" and ignored her. She wanted me to sign her hand. She was so taking the piss and it wern't even funny anymore. Thing was, she seemed serious.

I took it like i appear arrogent and want to impress people. I do stand out sometimes, but thats only because I have the loudest ass laugh ever, and that I look so weird but still appear confident enough to not be a total stereotype of a geek. I never want to impress anybody, its not me.

Unusual: My instructor at my new job, daily, calls me "weird" and says that I "scare" her a bit.

I'm not sure why, but usually she makes those comments after I've told a long story or given an explanation for something we're doing. Of course, I'm stuffed in a room full of puppy-brained jackasses, so it could just be that I have half of a brain that makes her say that.

ah well. It amuses me, really.

Negative/Positive, depending: I once heard my ex tell me that I have a lot of amazing qualities, but they're all overshadowed by my cold and caustic side. biggrin Now, I don't like to toot my own horn, but I'm sure he's right about all of the amazing qualities. But he's right about the cold and caustic side, as well, which those who do wrong to me are likely to experience. But only those who hurt me in some way.

Positive:

This morning, when Alex came home from work and I was still sleeping, he crawled in to bed. I mumbled to him, he cuddled up to me and said, "You're a good girlfriend." Now of course you could pick that apart and say well, he could've said amazing/superior/what the fuck ever, but that comment made my heart leap. There was a lot of love in the room. Then we fell asleep.

I get told I write well. But I just blog and it's all shite really.
This one's for you.

probably the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me came from here, actually, from sinister... he described me as the "prototype" and it's something I've never forgotten and won't

Unusual/Unique: 'You more than anyone, blows my mind with your tongue'.

Positive: Many but they include-'you are sexy', 'beautiful', 'I dig your style' etc...

Negative: That I was boring because I wouldnt do the Danny part during 'Grease Lightning' at a bar with a girl I quite fancied.

Totally Bizarre That I have a very cold left ball aka testical! The other was warmer!

The oddest was when I was 21 a man (that I hadn't even noticed) walked up to me in a club whispered in my ear 'you are so beautiful'. The blush started to spread on my face and it started to turn to a smile and before I could respond or even get a good look at him he turned around and walked out the door. Completely gone out of the club.

I think that's my favorite compliment ever. To this day I've no idea who that guy was. It was completely pure, he wasn't trying to get in my pants, or even get to know me. Just said something nice that totally made my night and walked away.

My sister gets the tall comment a lot as well. She's almost 6 ft. It's funny how people have to point that out to her as if she had no clue. lol
