Double Standards In Relationships

So, I think about having a serious relationship one of these days, hopefully sooner than later. If I decided to setle down with a man, why is it that some guys have a problem staying at home with the kids and taking care of a household? Why do some women consider a woman who wants a stay-at-home man, stupid?

Not that this may happen to me cuz I probably will end up with a woman. lol

Thoughts?

shit i dont mind it at all,i love working but if it came down to it, hell yeah i would handle the house i dont have a problem with that at all. i'd rather the kids be at home and safe then some baby sitter or day care and not feel like they are safe.

Yeah, the babysitter thing is one apsect of it but, I am interested most in not being rundown and tired as hell afterwork and then come home to housework and making dinner. I guess I want to be taken care of.

Let me stress that the most important part of this is coming home to the person I love.

people think that women are stupid when they do this because it is engrained in society(eventhough this is 2007) that men should be the main bread winner. anything else and he's a loser. for me i tried this and it did not work out the way that it should have. i prefer a person who doesn't mind if we both work and handle things jointly. btw in the end it really doesn't matter what others think. what matters are two adults that are able to compromise and do what is best for them. to hell with everyone else.

I'm not so sure it's a double standard any more, though. I know plenty of people who would scoff if I said I'd love to be a stay-at-home wife.
Which, I enjoy day-dreaming about, but I don't imagine it ever happening. lol And I'm not sure I"d actually enjoy it, when it came down to it.
And while I'd love any man who wants to take care of my home, I don't imagine myself ever making the kind of money that could support 2 people comfortably. I do ok on my own, but I can't imagine adding another person into my budget. lol

My brother actually stayed home with my oldest niece the first year after she was born and her mother went back to work right away. I found it absolutely wonderful, and I'm glad he had that opportunity. I can't imagine someone poo-pooing that.

I am a stay at home Husband and Father.

Its a lot harder than going out to work. But its much more satisfying as far as staying with the Kids is concerned.

I do work part time in the evenings as well, a couple of hours most nights, but essentially I am a stay at home dude.....

The people I babysitt for are this way.

She went back to work, and he stayed home with the kids.

They both LOVED that arrangement.

So it does happen, but not often.

And borrowing cups of sugar! And that mid afternoon glass of wine after the chores are done (for those of us that don't have maids) and before the kids get home from School.

I would like to have an a stay at home husband that knows how to cook.
I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.
