Doctor's Note? I'm in a SHIT mood. I have no health insurance and because this is my 4th consecutive day away from work, my employer is requiring a doctor's note.

Your employer should pay the damn $100 if they're not providing you with insurance.

My aunt works at the HMO I just called. Just got off the phone with her--I'll have a note within an hour. Ivy, thanks for the offer, but I think I'm going to be able to say SAYONARA to my boss within a week or two if my interview went well enough.

Did they ask for a note from a "physician" or just a "doctor"? Got any friends with a Ph.D.? 
Or for that matter, I’ve got a J.D. (Doctor of Jurisprudence) degree....

Eventually we need to get away from this system of tying health insurance to one's employer. Sure, there’s individual health insurance, but good luck getting it at an affordable price (or without sweeping exclusions) in most states.
