Dutch orgers! Anatomy for Beginners will be on again at 10:35! This show ----> http://www.channel4.com/s...index.html
It will be on again on channel tien tonight! Don't miss it if you can handle watching "gory" stuff. Gunther Von Hagens himself (the man who is behind body plastination and the Body Worlds exhibits) will be doing an anatomy class on TV. I've watched it before and it's truly amazing. He works with cadavers and shows everything from opening the body to reveal the respiratory system, the circulatory system, the reproductive system, etc. on non-plastinated cadavers. Not for people who get grossed out by those things though. It's basically watching an autopsy where NOTHING is edited out. Don't miss it!!!!! It's so cool to see how everything in the human body is "put together" and how it all works. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

Oh. I've flicked onto this by accident, many a time. It's almost like porn for serial killers.
I'm sure it's very educational, but why can't they put it on at three in the morning, when I'm less likely to stumble across it? And why does Doctor Gunther have to wear that hat which makes him look like Freddy Krueger?

Just peeled his skin right off in one big piece. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

I'm in England, so thankfully I am not currently exposed to Doctor Gunther's anatomy show at this moment in time. His show actually made me change my mind about donating my body to medical science. I'm not joking!!! I know that I really shouldn't care less about my body after death... But it all seems so undignified

I was wondering about that, because I thought maybe they had it on there at the same time tonight. Have you read the book Stiff ? It's all about what happens to you when you donate your body to science. I loved it. It really explains everything that you can end up helping with as far as research is concerned. Including being a severed head in an aluminum turkey tray that plastic surgeons can practice nose jobs and facelifts on. I'd much rather have Von Hagens work with me than end up that way. I'm still on the fence though about what I'd like to do with myself after I find myself singing in the choir invisible. I had seriously considered donating myself to Von Hagens actually, but you can't really specify exactly what you'd like your body to be used for. And then you end up on tv. Maybe that's a good thing for me though. How narcissistic! "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

I hate it. It's stupid. If you wanna see how bodies get torn up, become a medical examiner and/or a serial killer.
I was zapping just this week and around 7 they had an excerpt of the ballsack-cutting part. It's the same reason I stopped reading most newspapers and switched to teletext (Ceefax). Yuck.

Yeah, that was towards the end of that "class". I find it really interesting. It really is life-changing for some people. You get to see the damage smoking does to you, liver damage, cancer, etc. It really can change the way you view your body, and even deeper, makes you question just how we, as humans on this earth, were even "invented/created" in the first place. The body is the most complex thing on earth, it really is incredible. Not everyone wants to become a medical examiner and deal with that on a daily basis, so for the lay people, I think it's a good thing if you can stand to watch that sort of thing. You really learn a lot. I agree they probably shouldn't put it on at 7 p.m. though. But then, we ARE in Holland. They wouldn't even dare show it in the U.S. I'm sure. Or maybe on the big screen. I'm gonna try to donate myself to science. When I feel that the end is near, I'd like to be propped up against a big tree that's oozing in sap, that would eventually cover up my whole body. Then, hopefully, millions of years from now, after the super-evolutionized cockroaches find my carcass perfectly preserved in amber, they'll be inclined to build a huge theme park based on the knowledge & small amount of extracted DNA sample, which will go horribly wrong, & then they'll learn not to try & play God.

Well, every tv channel these days, even though occasional brilliance is found if you are willing to weed out the majority. I cursed yesterday when the tranquility of The Antiques Roadshow was taken away from me. I forgotit was on and just saw the last two items. Let's see. Never Mind The Buzzcocks has a new presenter Ifind hilarious. Dutch program De Wereld Draait Door is like RTL Boulevard for people with brains and humour, most of the time. The sports program of the same presenter I keep forgetting the name of right now; love it. Besides series that's all I watch. Even though I saw ANTM tonight and was mildly entertained. I watched the rest of the episode, as I wanted to see the drag queen voted off, only to find out she could stay and the voted off the Scarlet Johansen look-alike for the lack of persona. Funny, that is exactly what I think of Scarlet.

I berated a Dutch cartoonist for drawing a Senseo into his daily.
I also hate Senseo machines. For people who hate coffee. I am playing a lovely weird playlist of electronic music. Rabbit InYour Headlight just came on. I listen to alot of Radiohead lately.

I wouldn't watch such a show even if I could see it. It would completely gross me out. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

Even though Rabbit In Your Headlight is of course UNKLE. Not Radiohead.
And my dinner date I wanted to cancel cancelled itself. I have an entire day to myself tomorrowfor the first time in a week or so. Ooh, and I start my new job March the first.

Late last night I saw an episode of Louis Theroux' Weird Weekends and was reminded what brilliant television is.....he was visiting White Supremacist groups in Southern California (acrually close to where Karen lives) and good ole' Louis got himself into awkward positions because of his brilliant persona.....I love this man! I wish there was more stuff like this on TV, so compelling!

OH MY GOD. I totally agree. My husband and I always say we REFUSE to ever get a Senseo coffe maker/machine. We'd have to shoot ourselves if we did. We secretly roll our eyes when we go to people's houses and they have one and ask if we'd like a cup. Then again, my mom left me like 50.000 Douwe Egberts punten, so I might use that as halfway to an espresso machine.
