FRINGE Festival - Asheville NC

smile Jess ( the mad belly dancing gurl ) danced @ Fringe this past weekend

They danced a wacked piece called "Rich"

She is now head instructor ( for beg - intmed classes )
at the local college

AND she has been asked to join the local pro troupe smile

her 9 yrs of dedication and love for the art is now paying her in return

both years i was in these cencept shows where they would hire a small handful of actors who also write, and give us a theme, and we would go and erite about our theme, and then they would shape the monologues into a show, and do group peices, and form it into a show.

the first year was about love, and i wrote about derek and becoming positive, which had just happened 3 months before. it was RAW and very good.

the second year was about politics, and i wrote a piece on (my assigned theme- community) how we are not a community. it was good.

I would have loved to expereince that hug

one of the deepest fringe events i watched was last yr ... 2 extrememly open and honest gay men sharing their thoughts feelings fears anger and everything in between ... between them as if in a private place

the crowd was in awe

it was amazing and deeply moving

love you too hon mushy ...and one of the main things I've learnt as time has gone on is that lessons absolutely come from who, where and when we least expect them...

...including those on the other side of the world who you know, as yet anyway, purely through the internet wink

I really wanna go back and see Biltmore. I'm sure there have been a few changes by now.....but I wanna go close to Christmas when they have the decoration up. It's beautiful. Don't know why it's been so long since I've been to Asheville.....it's not all that far from me.....a few hours. lol

heart the Biltmore house ( it's expensive though rolleyes )

and x-mas is a nice time to see it or spring with all the gardens in bloom
