when people say they will call you back but don't don't you hate that? just say, i'll talk to you later or something, at least i know that there's a 5% chance that you may call back, but for the most part, we are done talking for the day.
but don't say "i'm going to call you back" and then never do it. it's one of my pet peeves. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I agree with you. People should call only if they really mean to call. I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

yeah that, but i mean when you are already on the phone with a person and their phone line beeps on the other end or they have to do something really quick what have you...and they say "i'll call you back" that's what i'm talking about. if you truly don't mean to call me back, then just say bye or ttyl. it's not that hard. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

I'm generally relieved when people don't call me back. Telephones are not my friend. Nor mine. I actually hate talking on the phone and making small-talk about random stuff. Welcome to my world of the silent phone.
I got rid of my land line and only give my mobile to v. close friends. I don't do casual phone number swapping. I am sooooo anti-social.

And I don't mind that since I love talking to them. It's just with friends and people who are right here in the same city as me. I'd rather just set a date to hang out so we can talk in person. I'm generally relieved when people don't call me back. Telephones are not my friend. amen, sister! i freakin HATE telephones. i have no idea what it is about them that i hate so much, but talking on a phone is like when levar burton had to wear that banana clip thing over his eyes on the star trek show. sure, he was blind and it helped him see, but it gave him a headache to use it and it made him mildly miserable the whole time. that's me and phones.

I really don't care, I rarely make time to talk on the phone anyway. Everytime it rings I literally whine, "WHAAAAAT???? FUUUUUCKKKKK!!!!!"

I actually hate talking on the phone and making small-talk about random stuff. me too I hate it when people ring just to chat about nothing in particular and don't have a specific message or reason for call I have always had certain phone friends in my life with whom I chat about absolutely nothing in particular. Many years ago, my friend Pamela and I would even watch movies on tv over the phone together. And we lived about 6 blocks from each other. These days I talk to Darin and/or his bf Denton just about every single day. And it's rarely anything important. In fact, with Denton and I it's usually pure nonsense. |

maybe if i got one of those headset thingies i'd hate the phone less. that way i could wash dishes or do crosswords or whatever while people blather away at me. maybe that's what i hate about phone so much. when i talk to someone in person, i like to be DOING something - like playing cards, looking at books or listening to music, watching a video, whatever - and talking on the phone limits me to holding a crap thing to my ear and doing nothing but listening to the sounds coming out of it. and i hate it when i'm on the phone and trying to multi-task - cook dinner or wash dishes or whatever - and the person on the other line is all like, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?"
BELIEVE ME, i can listen to you recap a rerun of gilmore girls and scrub my kitchen counter at the same time. trust me. i'm a doctor.

I hate how phones beep in now to tell you someone else is trying to call you when you're already in the middle of talking to someone. Whatever happened to the good old days when they just got a BUSY signal. In other words, I'M BUSY.
