unfortunately, the studio did almost no promotion of the movie, same as they did to office space.

i have not seen it yet, so i cant say if it is good or not, but office space and the b&b movie were excellent

I was going to post this myself. Saw it over the weekend. Funny as hell. Sort of what the world would be if Beavis and Butthead were grownups.

it was like "Futurama", "Sleeper" and "Brazil" all mixed together. Really good.

don't know, there was a lot of talking about how stupid it was to not promote the flm at all in all the industry papers and magazines.

In April 2006, a release date was finally set for September 1, 2006. But less than a month before it was set for release, numerous articles [1] revealed that the film's release was to be put on hold indefinitely. Although the release went ahead as planned, it was only a limited release (125 theaters), as opposed to a wide one (2,500-3,000). Initially, the film had been released only in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Toronto, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Mike Judge's hometown, Austin.

According to the Austin American-Statesman[2], 20th Century Fox, the film's distributor, has done nothing to promote the movie — while there were posters released to theatres there were no trailers, television spots, or even press kits for media outlets provided. This has led to speculation in some quarters that 20th Century Fox may be actively trying to keep the film from being seen by a large audience, while fulfilling a contractual obligation to release the film in theaters before releasing it on DVD. However, due to Fox's reluctance to provide concrete information, various theories surfaced.[3] In a New York Times article Dan Mitchell has argued that Fox might be shying away from a cautionary tale about low-intelligence dysgenics. [4] John Patterson of The Guardian suggests it is a result of the film's anti-corporate message, noting that in the film Starbucks now delivers handjobs, Fuddruckers' name has been changed to "Buttfuckers," and the motto of Carl's Jr. has devolved to "Fuck You! I'm Eating!" [5] (A Carl's Jr. vending machine is depicted ripping off a customer.) The film also satirizes soft drink manufacturers, with the fictional company Brawndo in the film controlling large swathes of the U.S. government (to the detriment of mankind).

I just heard about this movie on Friday. I was told because of his success with office space and it essentially being popular via word of mouth that he banked on it with this one.

Netflix is shipping it today! :yah:

Yet another sign that Irrestible is ahead of the cool curve in every way cool

OMG I just saw this movie!

I really liked it but it was kind of scary, I really think that's how things will be.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

I'm sure that has NOTHING to do with it. Censorship in the guise og "free" enterprise.
