Cool! It's always great to get a refund, rather than having to pay Uncle Sam. I always get money back, and it goes right into my savings account.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

It's fun to get refunds, but if you are constantly getting big refunds, you might want to adjust your W-9(?) so that not so much is withheld from your paychecks throughout the year--then invest that 'extra' in a high interest savings account or CD. That way your money is earning interest. The government 'borrows' your money (taxes) during the year but then when they give you back the overpayment (refund) they aren't paying you interest on it...

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I'm not getting a huge refund but thanks for the free tax advice. biggrin When I do get it back, it goes straight into an interest-bearing account. woot!

No problem, but please take it with a grain of salt--I'm not an accountant, I'm an art historian. biggrin

i was waiting for my W2, didn't get it til yesterday. mad

but my tax guy says i can expect it as early as this friday, but if not definitely by next friday. biggrin

my tax man is a retired detective for the state patrol, and was an accountant too, now does taxes but is otherwise retired. he's been doing my taxes for years now, and doesn't charge much. he files it electronically, and i choose direct deposit so it doesn't take much time at all to get it back. especially when filing early.
