My last boyfriend's father hated me because I wasn't "athletic" enough...so he didn't think I was good enough for his son. Do you have any idea how that hurt? I think most people just don't understand how much negative comments about the way somebody looks hurt . I keep hearing stupid comments about my skin being very light, though sometimes there are also comments of people who tell me how beautiful my skin is. It does hurt a lot, especially as these people seem to think that I could easily change it by just going outside and getting some tan . Just like skinny people tend to think that fat peole just need to eat a little bit less and will look like Paris Hilton. I think most people are just not happy with the way they look and by belittling others they feel somehow more beautiful themselves . Yuck. I hate her body type.

Like, I said, I'm not sure if I agree with you on this. Everyone gets made fun of. And the ones that don't get made fun of are hated by the ones woh ARE getting made fun of, and it's a vicious cycle. Like, I said, if something bugged me, I'd change it. Like I said...you like being thin and if someone makes fun of it it bothers you...well, I like being curvy, 5'9", having an hourglass figure and a 40DDD rack and I work out and count calories to keep it...some people consider that "fat"...and when people make fun of it, it bothers me. But, I ain't changing anything, because I like me...and I've worked hard to get there but, that doesn't change the fact that it still bothers me when people are made fun of or judged exclusively for how they look. Whoa, whoa, bacdafucup...5'9", hourglass figure , 40DDD???? (somebody pick me off da floor!) What MAN would that get away? Something must be in the water in Detroit. No offence, but your ex and his dad are nuts. You would have had to beat my old man off with a baseball bat. [Edited 1/29/07 15:08pm]

As for the subject at hand:
I recieved this in private.. Oh girl, you obviously havn't seen all the issues on the other threads! To which I answer this thread with: I have, but the same people move into the same ugly ridiculous crap every few weeks, I have been in touch with most... they all need to respect difference.... its dumb to assault each others senses but at the end of the day they are all harboring similar pains and discontents... some just color it this and others that.

Amen to that. I'm so glad this thread continued on the way it did. I see others (especially Dani's and Erin's) experiences may be coming from different ways, but they're not different really. I learned a lot...and I'm glad we all talked. I want to hug Erin, even though she's not into the warm and fuzzy crap, but, I'd make her hug me anyway

This is really sad. I just bought the People magazine and read the article. I did some math. She is 5'10" and I'm 5'5". She's 161, so for every inch of height, I subtracted five pounds. So comparatively, we'd be the same size if I were to weigh 136.
The media thinks THAT IS FAT!!!!????? This world is in complete shambles.
