Not as much as that check stub and that credit score! lol

Right on...that bullfrog Russell Simmons ain't getting Kimora if he's a bus driver or a postal worker. Whenever I saw them together, it looked like a kidnapping.

You are so right again! lol She would definately look the other way.

On looks alone you're right. But Russell Simmons' character is part of why he's rich. Same with Mick Jagger & Steven Tyler's energy & confidence. They wouldn't just be regular guys, and that's why they're successful, and why they get beautiful women.

They're the type who get what they want out of life, and it's not just luck.

It's amazing what a phat wallet will do when you're an ugly guy. Look at ugly mfers like Mick Jagger, Howard Stern, Donald Trump, Steven Tyler, Russell Simmons & David Spade. You think those cats would be getting A-list chicks if they were average guys? Hell no. You don't even have to be famous - I see fat, dumpy Wall Street types driving around NYC with hot chicks all the time.

As for women with curves, ain't nothing wrong with that(long as the belly's in good shape).

I agreed about the men that you mentioned. They certainly not my type but those girls won't look at them without the huge money. What also amazes me is that they get more choices too when it comes to the girls selection than some average good looking guy with a normal job. It makes me shook my head sometimes that women (particularly some sistas won't give some brothas time of the day if they don't have a phat bank account or the latest model ride). That is the first they asked when I tell them about my guy friends (yeah I am the around the way girl). 'How much he makes?' 'What car he drives?' Like hello what about personality and attraction? No wondered they are single and whining about there are no good men!!
I seen Tyra show today and she look very good and she just nicely curvy. That homegirl got a nice hour-shaped figure. That picture didn't show her stomach that much but I am pretty sure it is a good shape.

But I agreed too of seeing around here in the Circle City (indianapolis) the same thing you are seeing in NYC: ugliest and rich (or popular men) with the good looking women.

I am painfully aware of that but we was talking about how some women would date any guy as long his wallets are fat.

If it's not a big deal, why is she making a big fuss about it? She looks good, has a successful show and life outside of modeling. Seems a bit shallow if she's getting offended by remarks about her appearance, especially when she's been sort of marketing herself as just one of the girls.

It's not so much about her looks as it is, that someone took pictures of her that made her look bigger than she is and lied and said she was almost 40lbs bigger than her actual weight. Those pictures are nothing like what she really looks like. She doesn't like the lying and the intent of the articles. So she's speaking out.

lol Yeah, I do think that this is a true phenomenon. Some larger women are extremely jealous of thinner women, hence the whole "fat acceptance movement" and the "skinny women are evil" tagline.

I agree too.

Me too...there is definitely a backlash...but, I wonder how that happened... hmmm

It's probably better for people to focus on their own self-worth and perpetuate health rather than just appearance...one would think...

Nor does it make one, who thinks that those individuals that live an unhealthy lifestyle are unattractive, a bad person.

I hate people are saying she's fat,when she's not

She has a nice body. As long as she's healthy, thats all that matters.

If theres nothing wrong would being fat, why would that make you angry?

Ive gotten the impression since her show started that shes trying to appeal to her audience which demographics show are typically females who are home during the day. She wants to come across as "one of them". This means that she wants to shed her glamorous supermodel image and be (for lack of a better term) more "fumpy" so that her audience accepts her more. It seems to be working because her show hasnt been canceled yet. Remember when Oprah lost alot of weight after being fat for years, her ratings dropped because her target audience said, Who does she THINK she is!" Tyra knows what shes doing. She gains weight, she seems like a homegirl that her audience can relate to, her ratings are up, she wins. Thats the formula people.

Well, having worked with Tyra before I don't think it's so much a formula as it is an authentic side of her personality, different from the smouldering, aloof looking sex symbol we've become accustomed to seeing on years of magazine covers. She's actually very down to earth and folksy under all the make-up and weave magic. Is a complete cut-up, and when she's not in contact lenses, wears the thickest pop bottle glasses imaginable. But more than any of those details, she's simply a good egg. Grounded like hell, I'd say...and yes, she eats. Actually, I've very rarely worked with girls that have eating disorders. Alot of them might be whacked out on the drug du jour, but they all eat. The only thing is that some bodies will retain a little extra thickness more than others, so, I'm happy she's cool with embracing that 'thickness' and just saying, to heck with it, I got BOO-TAY, a'ight?! Besides, when you're in your 20's its easy to eat crazy, do 5 sit-ups and still stay small. The 30's is a time when your body changes a bit, so it makes complete sense to me that she's in 'that place' now where she can invite a little extra 'hip-page' on board without a problem wink

Im sure Tyra Banks is everything that you say she is. Im sure shes a warm and down to earth woman but she still has to relay that to her audience. It doesnt matter if she is down to earth if her audience doesnt feel that she is. Posing on the front of People magazine with her extra pounds just won her alot more viewers.
