Don't remember how I came here to post because I was too worry about not getting caught by the high school librarian for looking the messages on the org. That was so 1996 and back in the purple/black days.

You remembered AMP? I know folks from the other current Prince sites dissed how wild this site can get but not compared to the people at AMP I mean those people there were nutty!! There was no censorship I mean none at all! I wwas in high school when it was at this peaked (1996-98) and I remembered too of the word of the Wendy and Lisa wrote Purple Rain claimed and Prince called them Wisa was the talk for like four months. I was laughing hard at my school library (i mean I have to cover my mouth because I didnt want to get in trouble by that mean old Mr. Reynolds, the librarian) of how the Prince vs Wendy and Lisa sides were dogging each other out. I think the messages are still there on Google. I remembered Mani used to post there too declaring she will get Prince. Oh god, and it came true a few years later!! Now forward to 2007 practically dead everyone is either here or HQ or Myspace.
On this site people come and go or return with new names but one person that I remembered used to here all the time no other than the owner Ben. No he isn't an urban legend ya newsters out there he was real and he used to post here a lot. I never spoken to him but he was in fact around here a lot until a couple years ago.

I've been here since 2000, can you believe it? But I originally went under the name, frenchtoast100. But by 2002 when things changed, I swtiched to the name NWF. Having been obsessed with the band Gang of Four at that time, I decided to start a thread about it in the music forum. And the rest is history.....

I originally joined back in 2002...somebody had to stick up for Prince around here!

On the old black & purple Org, some idiot was saying really crass shit about the death of P's child. I couldn't believe what I was reading, had to say something instead of just lurking & reading the news like I'd been doing for a few weeks (remember when the news was the draw to this site??? )

I remember someone telling me I might get my point across better if I just explained my thoughts instead of having every other word be a curse word, made me think. I haven't shut up since... & I curse less

I'd rather not talk about my first days...months....here.

Used to lurk around on the boards, but mostly would go into the chatroom and lurk. It was much easier to go into the chatroom unnoticed, because it would not announce it when you came into the room. However, it used to have a list of everybody in the room at the bottom of the screen (very interesting!).

Back then I went by the name PurpleDove, but when the new and improved org went into effect, I could no longer use that name. So I changed it to my current name, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I first chatted up Orgers in the chatroom.

I am still in contact with most of the peeps I befriended there.

But it was the forums that kept me here. It gave me a chance to deepen the friendships...

In early 2003. I just got internet in my student's room, was single and having one of those lonely nights, looking up information about Prince. I kept lurking in the forums for a long time. People started to notice me after I took an avatar (the one-eyed Bert).
