so true.

actually if it had been the other way around, and the Knight guy or whoever he is would have said the n-word, a little hype would have been thrown around, but i bet you they wouldn't have even thought of firing him. thats just the way this world and society is. i think michael richards got off quite easy if you ask me. they didn't stir it up enough in his situation.

the same people in here ranting and raving about the f-word are the same ones who probably took the richard's situation and defended him. and this is all i got to say on the situation. thank you have a nice day biggrin

how do we know these ppl are hateful? just becuz we here them use a slur. Haven't we all used a slur? or thought it? or let it slide when somone else used it? It's easy to condemn someone from behind a computer screen. How often do we let the F-word and N-word go unchallenged in public? Having these ppl fired, doesn't change their minds, it just keeps their behavior quited in business situations. That said, I really don't have the resolve to combat these folks, so when they get caught my attitude is "so, you messed up". It would be refreshing for them to stand by their comments though, Rachel Ray didn't use any slurs, so why should she apologize?

i have challanged the fword in person and i have posted my story about it. i've never heard the nword used in my life so i don't know how i'd react in relife.

but everyday i can walk down the main drag of the gayborhood and hear some "tough" straight boy shout fag from the safety of his speeding car. and i can go out in straight communities in full Sister drag and never hear anyone call me a fag because they are taken back that I would do it out of the safey of my hood.

Why are people so shocked over stuff like this? It's human nature to hate what's different. Folks try to be PC, but sooner or later the true feelings come out.

Exactly!

As for Isaiah I don't know this looks good on him since he have some issues with most of the cast. I hope he get through with this so-called rehab thing but still you right he have some issues with the gays. But for the sake of his job, he was a dumbass for saying that word so openly especially since gays are now running Hollywood just as much as the Jews, and this incident can get him blacklisted or folks refused to give him good roles though.

I can almost guarantee that living in any populated center in the US, no matter what community, both of u have at least heard self deprecating uses of the n-word or f-word, (or some variation of slurs) used amongst ppl of the Black and Gay community against each other. Many of us have been called racial and sexual slurs from other groups, and some might be guilty of using them. I applaud ehuffnsd for confronting someone who used the word. Though I have confronted a number of ppl, I just find it hard to condemn behavior that I passively condone in public.

I did use the f-word when I was young. I had to learn that it was wrong, truly wrong. I once heard Eminem try to defend himself saying "I don't mean homosexuals, I just mean, hey man, why you being a f&%^&*t?"

Mind you, he was 20 years older than I was when I said it, and he should have known better, but it was the same for me at 10. I simply meant it as a generic insult--something that stupid boys said to each other. When it was really broken down to me, I understood and stopped saying it.

Isiah should know better at his age (and profession), but I think maybe people can say stuff without truly understanding what other people are hearing.

I'm not trying to defend him so much as say we can all make mistakes, and we hopefully continue to learn from them all our lives.

[Edited 1/25/07 13:02pm]

And before you falsely suggested someone to go to a mental institution lil buddy next time have some solid evidence to back it up. At least I know people who works in the industry and therefore I know what I am talking about. Why? Because they tell me firsthand accounts about what is going on behind the scenes. From A-list and B-list stars having sex parties to Which groups has the influence and who doesn't. Gays has powerful influence in Hollywood in more ways than you think. Isaiah wasn't using his head when he said those slurs more than once and now his job on the line as he has to go to rehab of saying something that he felt. I sincerely hoped that everything works out for him in the long run for the sake of his career, but I don't know as the gays groups in Hollywood demand him to get fired and most of the cast doesn't want to work with him. If he hated gays he should have kept his mouth shut at least, enjoy his biggest break of his career (it might be his only one from the way it looks), and find a smarter way to fight his battles and learn the rules of the game.
Otherwise about your remark...rolleyes

I didn't see him as being openly anti- anything. someone asked the entire cast of the show during a press conference about the incident that allegedly took place where Isaiah called a co-star a faggot. The creator of the show was kinda side-stepping the question... Sooooo Isaiah said flat out "No I did not call TJ a faggot." -THIS answer is what caused the big damn to-do. Not the incident itself but the fact that he said the word while answering a question about the initial incident. He denied calling him that. But he USED the word when he said he didn't say it. This is why I personally feel this whole thing is so much bullshit.

One guy accuses another guy of saying something and no people are aware of what exactly happened (other than the co-stars that were there). So without really proving that he called this guy that, and NOBODY that I know of backed up the TJ person's accusation OR Isaiah's denial, this actor is being dragged thru the fucking mud. People are trolling for shit to protest here or whatever. gimme a damn break. The whole thing is dumb as fuck. People are saying that this guy is a hate filled so and so they don't even know what happened.

the original incident started it, and several of the other actors verified it, including t.r. himself on ellen. isiah denied saying it, and then said it at the globes, which made it worse than it was before.

he has since admited to calling him it to begin with
