To all Org parents... please...I beg of you...

If your kid loves to sing but can't carry a single tune, don't encourage them. Specifically, don't give them keyboards and a mic, especially not if you still have your hearing and/or live in an apartment building. This neighbour of mine has a teenage son who couldn't sing on key if his life depended on it and it grates on my ears so much bawl pissed What's worse she gave him keys and a mic so now EVERYBODY in the building hears him. He only does it during the days though, so it's not really enough to complain to the landlord about either.... but lord do I wanna kill him, or put an anonymous note on the front door saying "Whoever is singing loudy, stop it cos you can't sing for shit!" mad

So parents please be honest with your children. Always. Encourage them to do something QUIET, like draw.

That's all. Gripe over.

Tell him to sing Prince songs. Maybe that'll make it more enjoyable.

Go out and buy him the music sheet for songs like Sugar Walls, Head, and Darlin Nikki. His mom might take away all his musical stuff poste haste once she hears the songs herself.

I'm gonna start singing my kid the Monster Mash right out of the womb. If it's first words aren't "I was working in the lab..." it's hitting the black market then and there.

Dear lord no shake I'd have nightmares FOREVER about that then and the songs would be ruined for me. Don't even know his mom knows English that well, she seems kinda dumb. shrug

see that's how it starts, I mean everyone knows the kid can't sing but no one will tell him. His mom knowing that he can't sing buys him instruments hoping that he will take more interest in playing than singing. He grows up and finds friends who love him but won't tell him the truth.

Where does he find out he can't sing?

From Simon phucking Cowell that's who.

We need a world wide intervention, if you know someone who can't sing but has been deluded and enabled their whole lives into thinking they can PLEASE STOP THE MADNESS!!!!!

get to them before he does...
before he calls them a bushbaby and the world is there to witness,
Please.

Unfortunate situation.

But I would never tell anyone to stop singing.

Too bad they cannot think of the neighbors though. :bleedingears:

um, pardon me but it goes without saying that everyone must abide by the noise ordinances applicable in their city, and in addition to that, most apartment leases have a clause that specifically prohibits disturbing the peace.

it is usually phrased as "tenant agrees not to interfere with another tenant's right to the peace and quiet enjoyment" of their space.

counter-whap! biggrin

It's still apartment dwelling nonetheless...and noise comes with the territory....

well, you're right he' needs a mic as well- with the phones he can turn up the volume so he doesn't have to shout for one thing, for another thing it would eliminate you hearing the keys, and headphones remove the need for an amplifier. and it's when amplifiers are involved, imo that things turn really ugly.
