the first saw is suprisingly good on a psychological level, and i HATE horror movies normally. but it is really really gross Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely. - Lord Acton

Yeah, it's also a good way of forcing your kids to rebel once they get out on their own. My pastors wife had a talk with me about this one time, and she said that her and her husband value the ones that 'question' their faith as more of a triumph, than the ones who just accept it, or the ones that their parents forsed them to be there.

Yeah...I wish for, though, I can't say for sure that I would watch, is a better scary movie than Saw even... SPOILER What I found to be the most chilling of Saw...(...I've only seen the first...)...is that that fucker layed there, dead still, getting off, through all of the desperation and gore. Not scary, just sick, imo.

It's really irritating to me now. So I guess were all a result of out parents screw ups. My mom never ever talked about God or took us to church. A a result, I tend to get extreme about religion and my brother doesn't believe in God at all.

The first is remotely interesting. The last two are just a gorefest. A funny gorefest. The creepiest thing about the movies is the sounds.

Wow. Yeah, I know Christians that are that way too. I used to play with this one girl when I was little, and one day her mom told her she wasn't allowed around me anymore, cuz I had a Bon Jovi shirt on, and Bon Jovi is not a Christian. Well, how did she know if Bon Jovi was a Christian or not. THAT is not the way I wanna teach my kids. I want my kids to love and accept anybody, and thats actually what the bible teaches anyway. Judgey Christians irritate me to no end. BUT ANYWAYS! So how does your Dad feel about your guys'es choices?

I love a good scary movie and, unfortunately, Saw isn't one of them. As has already been said they're about seeing how gross they can be more than they are about building suspense. That's the trend right now with just about every horror release. The last one to really give me a good suspenseful scare was Frailty.
