What they subject their children to borders on abuse. I did have a few uncomfortable laughs at one of the kids. I think a jaded drag queen wrote some of her lines. When she talks about her ideal job...you'll see.

Truly frightening.
It's in my Netflix queue.

And I do think it borders on abuse...

I saw this in theaters. And yes, it's terrifying. As a kid, my childhood was a lot like the kids' in this film--my folks were total Evangelical fanatics. The scene where the kids were instructed to talk to the cardboard standup of George W. Bush was sooooo uncomfortable.

psh...I still haven't seen The Ring in it's entirety because she, the dead girl, comes out of the waterwell then, towards me/us on the tv screen!...
