Funny you should ask this. I wrote my masters thesis in comparitive lit on the poor representation of Asian Americans in literature. Whenever one refers to asian american literature they refer to Amy Tan. Fuck Amy Tan and her Joy Luck Club. All this has done is hinder us as a race and allowed us to fall into the trap of the model minority myth. I could vent for days about this topic. Currently I am reading a fine work by Frank H. Wu called Yellow Race in America beyond black and white that explores the model minority myth and the fact that we are one of the most oppressed groups in the world.
