Why are people mortified by a "microchip in their neck?" Think of what this could do in finding missing children, criminals, and so forth.

The government can already dig up a paper trail of everything you've done in your life if they needed to. This is simply a more organized way of identifying and locating people. Noone can sit at a computer 24 hours a day and pay attention to what 5 billion people are doing at the same time.

Its not a question of if your parents are gonna log on to some supercomputer and find out you're at the local porno store.

From what I've heard so far, these devices are simply for IDing people, basically like swallowing your social security card, they're not for altering peoples minds.

I just think any parent who uses this technology is out of their minds.
Over 90% of children abducted are taken by people they know-scorned parents mostly, and then relatives, friends...and then the guy down the street. The unknown assailant stories get the most news stories, and it just perpetuates a myth that its the weirdo down the street that will 'get you', when in fact, families are almost always the cause of abuse, kidnappings, neglect, etc.

I think we need to learn how to love eachother first before we start making human tracking devices. Microchips in kids' necks is a lazy form of good parenting. Not only that, i think it's a complete invasion of privacy. Parents don't need to know the exact location and whereabouts of a teenage boy or girl, 24 hours a day.

I could do with some "microchips in my neck". As it is I carry about on my person more computing power than your average NSA crypto center. Having some of it tucked away inside my person would do quite nicely and free up valuable pocket space
