I've done it several times myself, and am interested in hearing the stories of others who have done it as well. What lead up to it? Did you regret doing it after all was said and done?

Yes. And I'm sorry to tell you, it was prob one of the worst decisions of my life.

It cause a series of events that pretty much ruined my life in part.

You already know ALL my stories and NO I don't regret quitting any job before having another one. A person knows when it's time to jump ship,well at least I did. I'm not going down if I'm not the captain. Remember Satruday Matinee,I felt the most proud leaving that job!

yes i did but when i had my redundancy talk (sp) another teamleader noticed it and i had another job within 15 mins

Oh yes. Almost every time when I was younger. With no savings, either. It was a mistake every time, but I was just too fed up by the time it happened.

I don't think I would do it now, though. At least I'd like to think I wouldn't. I'd be in financial trouble real quick.

That's cool. Mortgage. My girlfriend makes more than me, but we're both putting most of it into the place. The first year is a big adjustment. Also we're working on getting out of credit card debt. No kids, fortunately. Nothing wrong with them, we just don't want them.

I like my job okay, but I think I'm a bit uninspired & unchallenged right now. I love having a job with purpose, but like anything it can get old. I don't feel like I'm moving forward.

I know what you mean. It sounds like marketing for a non-profit organization would provide endless new challenges though? I would have thought you'd get overwhelmed before you got bored. Like I said though, I know how it can be when it all becomes a routine and you've done it all a thousand times already. It's really no fun, and to be honest - when that happens I usually start looking for something else instead of try to ask the boss to give me new tasks.

I'm not the head of marketing here, and we're a small admin staff, so some of my day inevitably involves grunt work. I do write grants, though, and that can be fun. I think I might like to try writing grants for another company.

I do believe in the cause, and that's how I become involved at my job again, by spending time with the participants in the program.

Yes. I quit a job in 2003 before I attained new employment and it was one of the worst periods of my life. I ended up finding a new job a couple months later but it had no benefits and it was only part time. It took through 2004 to get myself back to where I was. I will never do something so arrogant again.

I've had a job of some kind since grade school.(yard work for grandma who was a task master) When I've quit I always give the required notice. Work in a profession where there's always a shortage so don't have any problem with employment. Quit one job to move out of state. Had $$ saved so I could take time off. Got another job immediately when the time came. Current employer I've been with for 25 years.
