Caller ID: is it still cool or would it have been better

20 years back? I remember back in the day People would crank call&whatnot&you would wonder who it was.well nowadays Caller-Id is as common as a Telephone but it seems to be that everybody has it.I think it would have been cooler back in the day to know who was tripping out on the other end.your thoughts on Caller ID:

so how would it have been different if everyone had it 20 years ago rather than everyone having it today?

if somebody called you that you knew&yet you couldn't prove it properly but you had access then.I was saying that if you had that access then&since not many people had it then you would have been one step ahead of the Pranksters.

good topic.
maybe crank calls is a dying art then, like a folk art lost to the changes of time. perhaps we should revive the custom? or has it been upgraded? now, we get spam in our e-mail boxes, and weird IM messages popping up on our computer screens to tease us into conversation. kinda like crank calls, imo

Exactly! Everyone is afraid to crank call on the phone because you can either *69 them or you have caller ID.

If I were immature, and about 10, I'd still crank call! Screw caller id. We don't even have the 69 junk available here.

We get a lot of hang up calls. Usually, I'll pick up, "Hello?" ...silence..."Hello?" ...silence..."Ah, you fuckin' suck." Click. Then I'll hang up.

Well, after I "embarrassed" him yesterday in front of class, and after I had a talk with him today beforehand, apologizing for my rude conduct...

He let me go up and write on the board. That MUST be love.

love I love you, Senor Artiga!

20 years ago, there was a problem, in the legal sense,
with people knowing who was callin them...
now they've got that all solved.

*67 is my friend. My parents also put this thing on the phone so our number doesn't show up on caller IDs.

I was never really big on crank calls, and we never really got them either. My parents made our number unlisted anyhoo, waaay before I was even born, for reasons still unknown to me... there WAS a motive though. I swear.

I love the pooptoast icon so much. It's almost scary how much I love it. Maybe I'll get it tattooed on my ass.
