CELL(MOBILE) PHONES!!! Is there anyone else on here, who is like me and really hates cell(mobile) phones with a vengeance?????
I do have a cell(mobile) phone, but really its more trouble than its worth, 2 b honest!! U either have 2 make sure they are fully charged up and u always have 2 make sure they are topped up account wise, either by paying with a swipe card at any top-up point or by making sure u have paid into your account/contract!! The thing is, if u havent done either or all of those things, then God help u!!!!! In all honesty, give me a landline anyday!!!! [Edited 1/19/07 7:54am]

No, I think they make the world a better place, and if it wasn't for the internet, I would have my land line totally disconnected.

Granted, cell(mobile) phones are very usefull in emergencies and also they do keep u touch with freinds and family, particularly with regardings meeting up if u have split up on shopping sprees, ect. by texting. etc.
But if u forget 2 either charge them up or pay the bills or the top-up fees, then u are totally stuck, big time!!!!

Ex-Moderator | I used to use my cell exclusively, till I moved to a basement apartment. I get really, really bad reception in my own home, so I only use my cell when I'm away from my house or when the weather's nice and I feel like chatting from my porch or my backyard. |

i don't hate cellphones but i do hate morons who drive, holding onto the wheel with one hand, the phone in their other hand, and can't be bothered to signal turns or lane changes.
that's not just stupid, it's dangerous

I personally love my cell, and I think its on par with the microwave and the internet as one of the greatest innovations of my generation.
also, no offense, but how hard is it to keep it charged with a home and vehicle charger and pay your bill? to me, that's just part of being a responsible adult.

i feel the same way about cell phones as i do about children.
in theory, both are wonderful. it's the way their owners/parents treat them that make them evil. i love owning a cell phone in much the same way i love owning a flashlight or an address book or a hammer. these are things that i need from time to time, and having them handy makes my life better. i hate people who have no sense of etiquette or decorum with their cell phone activity in public. i do think as cell phones have become more ubiquitous and commonplace, people's behavior in general has improved over the years. and if i could figure out a way to keep my DSL and cancel my landline, i'd certainly do it and just keep my cell phone. i don't talk on the phone enough to justify having two lines.

i prefer landline phones to cell phones, as i don't have to worry about a kajillion people eavesdropping or being noisy while out in public. i've got a cheap pay-as-you-go cell phone simply so i can keep in touch with my dad...it's kinda annoying, as he expects me to have it on me at all times in case he wants to call me. half the time i got that sumbitch at home, turned off and on my nightstand.

1-900-SUX-EDIT [Edited 1/19/07 10:58am] welcome to my cell phone world. my mom makes me nutso with the cell phone now that she's used to using hers. 99% of the time i keep it on vibrate and figure if someone needs me, they'll leave me a message.

I lost my mobile phone in Thailand and my travels. I couldnt care less because I really dislike them. Due to mobile phones, the pub quiz as we know has lost its essence.

My biggest complaint is the actual sound quality - I just think cell phones are inferior that way. Hopefully someday they'll make em better, but as of now, if I'ma talk to somebody, I'd rather do it on the landline (if possible) cuz they sound so much better.
