The Kindness of Strangers/Snow Day

anyone who was on the org last year during the wintery months knows how much i despise shoveling snow. well, it snowed last night. neutral

lol while anelia was very excited about the day to come i was dreading it, knowing that i had my whole driveway and sidewalk to shovel. i made a nice breakfast for anelia and myself (eggs, sausage, hashbrowns drool ) and mentally prepared myself to go outside.

then i heard it. the sound of a snowblower, but closer than i usually hear it. could it be? is someone actually clearing my driveway for me?

YES!! biggrin

my neighbor across the street was clearing my driveway and sidewalk for me. i don't believe we've spoken more than 5 words to eachother since i moved in. neither one of us are anti-social, we just were never outside at the same time. we always wave at eachother if we see eachother, but it was such a kind thing of him to do. i made some hot chocolate for him, but he said no thanks.

after he was done with my driveway he and my next-door neighbor cleared the driveway and sidewalk of an elderly woman across the street.

all this, of course, left more time to get pictures of anelia playing in the snow!! biggrin

we are now inside, watching a movie and drinking hot cocoa. i think we'll make some cookies later.

how is your day looking? biggrin

Listen, I know I've said this before, it might even have been to you, but don't be one of those people who just does a shovel-wide path on your walk!

Shovel the WHOLE sidewalk!

Why bother, most people walk in a straight line, unlike you who zig zags everywhere.

what bugs me here is when people shovel that crap out onto the road
where do they think it's going to go? just makes it even more fun to drive rolleyes

i burnt a bridge with one neighbor who has a snowblower but i made friends with another old guy that has one! woot! lol he's come around twice this year already to see if i needed help. coincidentally it was after i had finished shovelling both times confused but i know if we get really dumped on he'll be there for me
doveShe couldn't stop crying 'cause she knew he was gone to stay dove
