You can get a percentage of money collected by the government for turning in tax cheats.
BTW do you really think you make $$1000 on a tax deduction? Seriously do you think that you are getting a $1,000 in cash?

my whole tax return is going right into travellers checks for my vacation in march...if i can save up enough $$$ to match my tax return in the next couple of months, i might be able to afford a second beer in reykjavik! I haven't gotten my w-2 either. I need my monies. So, for real, what would keep somebody from pulling the t-shirt tax scheme? Makes sense to me! oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

Let's go online and encourage everyone ot be tax cheats. It's not cheating. Not really. You made the donation and they gave you a receipt for the value of your items. Says nothing about you having to have paid that much of the items themselves 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Hey Sure thing., I too have charitable donations that I use as a tax write off at the end of the year., but I think that there is a limit ( not 100% sure), but I know last year we gave clothing to the Salvation Army and to the Goodwill and were able to use a portion as a write off. Thankfully owning a small business we can get a ton of write off that alot of people can't normally. It really helps @ tax time! I need to know with her theory about paying the $100 to get the $1,000 and the extra $900 if she understands that the thousand comes off the gross earnings and not the tax amount due. It's not as if you were going to get a $500 refund and now you are going to get a $1,500 refund?

I can't say whether it's cheating or a good idea, but it sounds like a good way to get audited. My Legacy
