I am right handed, but my writing looks like I am left handed. It slants all the way to the left. I can't tell you how many times someone has looked at my signautre and said oh your left handed and I tell them no I am right handed and they just look at me like I'm a freak. eek lol Then they insist I must be left handed and then want me to write something so they can see it for themselves. Then I get that puzzled look. confused lol By that time, I'm like yeah ok whatever.

I do some things left handed, but I'm mostly right. When I was young I batted in soft ball left handed, skateboarded "left-handed"... Snowboarding I started out left and really could switch stance all the way. I golf left-handed, but really I can do either. Pool I'm mostly right but I can do left-handed if I need to.
I don't know why. lol

Interesting. I have absolutely no idea what the right-or-left-handed way to do those things ARE.

But I'm very right-handed. I did try to develop ambidexterity when I was young, but failed miserably. And I do believe that there are left/right brain psychological differences with left/right handed people, and that left-handed people are usually cooler. And that I'm a right-handed left-brained rigid logic-obsessed type-A freak. sigh

I think it follows through most of the time, you're right.
Which would explain why I'm mostly an analytical type, but can have flashes of creativity here and there. lol
And why I'm mostly attracted to left-handers like you are. wink

I'm a lefty biggrin . There's only 2 of us in my generation of my family and I have 4 nieces and nephews who are lefties so far.
My older sister always hated being left handed but I like it

I watched the National Geographic about multiple births the other night and they said that left handed people could be "mirror image twins" whose twin didn't survive and was reabsorbed.

I could be a fetus in fetu! woot!

Yeah, thinking about the types of people that both of us have as friends (lefty TYPES, even if they actually aren't). . . we're clearly seeking some kind of balance in our lives. Which is good, I suppose. lol

In fact, I think you're one of my two (!) friends who isn't a total right-brain. I have to have a couple of you around to make me feel like I'm not completely alone in the universe. mr.green

I don't write underhand or turn the page sideways. I hold the pen the same way as a right handed person does but maybe it still looks weird to right handed people.

The problem is that since we write from left to right in western culture, there's a chance your hand will accidentally smear the ink if you're a leftie. I know my dad has that problem.

spelling edit

Yeah, and writing in spiral notebooks sucks ass as a leftie. By the time you're done doin a page, there's an imprint in your wrist.

In football/soccer, being left footed was a major advantage. I was leftback, but could whip in the dealiest crosses with my left foot.

Iam left handed in tennis aswell, does that have any advantages?

Leftie here as well.

Actually, when I first learned to write, I got all confused about being left handed and thought it meant I had to write to the left, LOL. I used to write everything backwards for a while - I was pretty fluent at it too. There's drawings and stuff my parents have saved where I wrote my name "ymmot" across them, LOL. My sister used to tease me about it, so I grabbed her Sean Cassidy album (which she loved) and took a black marker and scribbled "ymmot" all over it.

My grandmother used to smack my hand every time I ate with my left hand. I tried my damndest to eat spaghetti with my right hand, and ended up wearing most of it on my shirt instead.

I read many decades ago, some posh schools taught you how to write right handed only. Now that would be harsh for us natual born lefties.
