I bet it would be fascinating to see that. The only left handed people I know write either of the two ways I mentioned.

I'll get my son's father to film my hand writing with his camera the next time he comes over.
Seriously? That would be cool. biggrin

they tried teaching me that crap in first grade and it got on my nerves. i was like, "why am i the only kid in class who has to write on crooked paper???"

it still annoys me. i'd rather write with my hand all scrunched up.
lol I taught myself to titl the paper. I don't think my cursive writing would be as nice with a scrunched hand.

oh, i hate writing in cursive. i only write my signature that way. when i was in college, i worked in the architecture library and learned to write in block caps - since then, most all my longhand writing is in a bastardized form of that.

I don't write underhand or turn the page sideways. I hold the pen the same way as a right handed person does but maybe it still looks weird to right handed people.

The problem is that since we write from left to right in western culture, there's a chance your hand will accidentally smear the ink if you're a leftie. I know my dad has that problem.

So I just wrote something and noticed that the part of my hand that touches the paper is lower than where I am writing so that's why I don't smear the ink. shrug

I'm generally left handed for writing, eating, scissors, etc... except when I'm fisting someone, then I use my right hand.

you know, I could never master cursive. mine sucks. i wonder if my left handedness has anything to do with that?

I actually just tried writing with my left hand for fun to see how I'd do.
I can print almost respectably, but my cursive looks like a little kid's. lol

I can't even print right handed, much less cursive.

I tried jacking off with my left hand. It started moving from side to side instead of up and down after a while. neutral

For sure. I'll just have to remember to ask him to do. I'm curious to see if it still looks "odd" to most.

i always have a big ink/pencil smudge on the side of my hand when i write for a long time. when i used to draw a lot, i used to have to put a scrap of paper under my hand so i wouldn't smudge the drawing.

I was born a lefty but in school they tried to convert me to a righty- using the explanation that they only had right handed scissors..

So- I find I still do things left handed without thinking about it.

I seem to always convert back to the LEFT!

I should move back to Japan where you shift with your left hand. Maybe that would give me some well-needed practice, and look sexy at the same time! smile

When I was about 13-14 I went through a phase of practicing writing with my left hand. Since I did a handful of things left-handed I decided it would be cool to become comepletely ambidextrous. I gave up after a few months cause it's just easier for me to be right-handed, but I check myself every once in a while.

Yeah, I'm a big dork. redface

I seem to always convert back to the LEFT!

cool

my kindergarten teacher tried to "convert" me to right handed, without telling my parents. it messed me up to where i couldn't tell my left from my right and my mom had to write "left" and "right" on the toes of my shoes. when my parents found out what my teacher was trying to do to me, they went THROUGH THE ROOF. i still have a mild problem with directions, though nothing nearly as bad as it used to be.

i'm one of those people to whom someone says "it's to your left...no, your OTHER left!"

though i'm worst with directions. if someone tells me to walk east, i have no idea where the hell i'm supposed to go.

lefty here! biggrin
funny to see who's a lefty..... hmmm
My mom, my husband, my son and I are all lefties! woot!
I wonder if my son is a lefty because that's all he sees...but, I doubt it.

I'm not sure what "underhanded" writing is? My mom turns her paper almost horizontally and cranks her wrist around like crazy. Is that underhanded writing?
I don't do either of those things....I just write like a righty but with my left hand. Smudges are a thing of the past ...ink has come along way, but I do avoid felt tip pens and pens where the ink is very wet.
"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok

I'm a lefty biggrin . There's only 2 of us in my generation of my family and I have 4 nieces and nephews who are lefties so far.
My older sister always hated being left handed but I like it

I watched the National Geographic about multiple births the other night and they said that left handed people could be "mirror image twins" whose twin didn't survive and was reabsorbed.

That would have meant that my mother had 3 sets of twins.
