Food preparers who wear gloves

What's the purpose??

I STILL see them scratch their ass, balls
and nose anyway AFTER they put them on.

The gloves are for their benefit, not ours.
They wear 'em so's that they don't get sandwich meat cooties on their ass, balls et al..

I was extremely clean when I demo'd food and had to cook. If I so much as touched any thing except my santized prep area, I changed gloves. Not to mention, in the transition from handling raw to cooked I changed... and so on.
This one's for you.

That's how you're supposed to do it nod

In Wisconsin, it's state law that gloves MUST be worn when handling ready-to-eat food. Which is fine, but some places (like the place I work, for example) get carried away and make us wear the gloves ALL the time. Which would be ok, but it's only a matter of time until someone slips and melts thier hand to a grill or something cuz of the gloves. I hate it when I get the tongs caught on them...it's a pain in the ass.

I'm guessing it's state law here. Hell, I just know it's Sam's Club law.

Most of the girls weren't so good about it though. Ehm, you get all kinds. biggrin

What I always hated was trying to cut veggies or whatever, and my glove usually was too big cos we had a lot of big-handed people in the department. I needed smalls, but we mostly just had larges on hand. So there'd be more glove hanging over than needed to be and I was always cutting holes in them and changing constantly.
This one's for you.

Ugh...I HATE wearing gloves that are too damn big, esp. if they're vinyl...they feel like you're wearing sandwich bags on your hands. I *finally* got them to order some medium latex ones, and now life is good lol

See, I don't like the latex ones. I don't remember the material of the ones I liked... I felt like latex dried my hands out too much and they're harder to get off if they actually fit.
