Do you feel accepted?

blunt question, yes, but... I'm curious

do you feel accepted here and like you have true friends? I mean - not just acquaintences but REAL friends?

curious... hmmm

can I tell you something weird? I don't know if this is insecurity or not, but sometimes I think some people accept me so well that I feel a little like an impostor, and wonder if they knew me even better would they accept me the same way? They have been my friends for YEARS, and they seem to like me a LOT eek

Mostly yes. Occasionally no. But that's usually me just being in a bad mood. lol
But it took a few years for me to feel that way. I had to post a lot to be recognized at first.

As for the REAL friends portion, yes, I have REAL friends here. But mostly those I've met in real life. Not to say I don't feel genuine affection for anyone I haven't, cause I do, but the real life thing just cements what happens here. It allows a level of bond to develop that just isn't quite there yet for me without it.

No. I'm really like the troll that comes from under the .org-bridge to ask for the people to pay a toll fee.

tell the truth, i'm not too worried about being accepted by others. i'm much more concerned about whether i accept myself. 'cause once you do that, wherever you are, you're fine.

i agree with alot of what has been said above (about not really caring too much etc ....) BUT I will just add that --- sometimes .... when u least expect it ... someone send you an orgnote or something .. that is very thoughtful and makes you feel very accepted ... u know ... when u least expect it ... kinda stuff ... wink

on occasion and definately @ times, by certain people..funny how people "determine" or "percieve" how they think someone is just from reading posts...plus I too, like some of the others, have never and may never have the chance to meet any of you in person., and to judge someone based on a post is just wrong..imo.

I think I have a pretty good idea of what quite a few orgers think of me.

I'm close to two people on here and, of course, I feel accepted by them or I wouldn't talk to them at all.

I feel accepted by some people, and not by some people.

I think it's hilarious the people, that take me seriously, and don't 'get' me. I know they talk shit about me, but that's funny to me.

The people that I know are cool, and some of the people I 'know' aren't cool.

Same as real life.

hmmm I had not thought much about feeling accepted "here" I think acceptance comes from within 1st, if you have self acceptance then the place you are matters less

YES biggrin I have several REAL friends here rose

No, I actually don't feel accepted.

I starting feeling that when my health thread had 14 replies and over 80 views.

it's only a message board. The friendships that I have formed here are the exceptions, the rest is just filler.

That is weird. I know what ya mean.

Start a thread about a hang nail and ya get like 2 zillion replies.

But start something serious and nadda.

It's the shallowness of it all.

But I think it's cuz people come here to escape serious stuff and goof around.

I mean, SOME people.
